PERSONALITY: Observant of everything, especially the thoughts and emotions of others, a strong but gentle mind and heart, intelligent, persistent, and not afraid to stand up for her beliefs. She's slow to trust and is very wary of strangers, but deep down she's eager for affection, and sometimes wears her heart on her hoof. She's honest and a little blunt at times, only because she doesn't always know how to word things. She's unique in the way that she perceives things a little differently than others, choosing to observe quietly and at times it seems she doesn't have a brain to mouth filter and she crosses those invisible boundaries that others have without knowing. She loves softly but completely, and won't let on exactly how deep her emotions are, not even if you try to pry it out of her, because deep down she's delicate and she knows that's a dangerous thing to be when you're out all alone in the big wide world. All in all, she's a very gentle soul.

HISTORY: Skadi was born in a set of twins, and as such was the sixth fawn born to a Silverthorne doe, and by superstition was destined to die. A thin twist of fate spared her life. Skadi's mother wasn't skilled enough with fire magic to burn the fawn herself, so she abandoned it instead, assuming the elements would end Skadi's life efficiently with no one the wiser while she herself took the stronger twin back to the herd with her and never spoke of this forbidden sixth fawn.

Skadi was found on death's doorstep by an old doe of Blackwood and Silverthorne bloodlines, named Roma, who took pity on the abandoned fawn after having lost her own only days earlier to wolves. Skadi was raised at the threshold of Silverthorne, never to be accepted by the herd because for all intents and purposes, she was supposed to be dead. Her foster mother told her that if anyone knew she was a sixth fawn, they would kill her. Because of this she's never felt very fond of Silverthorne, preferring instead to stick to the outskirts. Her birth mother's abandonment and the herd's strict superstition provides fuel for Skadi to feel bitter towards Silverthorne. Because of multiple reasons, mostly being that she has no proper teacher, Skadi has never developed an affinity for fire magic. Instead she dabbles in herbalism, but some day she will discover her magic.

She stayed with Roma in Silverthorne when she was young, wandering between the northern Iron Hills, and going as far as the Southern edge of Whitepeak Range.

After Roma died, Skadi began to wander farther and farther from Silverthorne, finally coming to the Black Lake, and then into Blackwood through the Southern Pass in the Winter of 762.

BELIEFS:
~ Respect for life and the dead; though she doesn't have the magic to communicate with deceased spirits like Blackwoods do, Skadi holds a lot of respect for the departed. Regardless of their influence in life, everyone deserves a proper burial and for their existence on earth to be acknowledged.
~ Balance of power; you can't go your whole life taking and taking and not giving in return. All things deserve respect and recognition, no matter how small. You can't expect everything to be handed to you, and you can't take advantage of others. Sooner or later, your karma will catch up to you.
~ Be soft, but be heard; don't stomp all over lesser beings and don't throw your weight around when it isn't needed. Be gentle and quiet, watch and listen. There is nothing too small or too silent. With that being said, do not hesitate to stand your ground and make yourself heard when it is important.
