Description
I started this coronation portrait of Empress Ekaterina II (Catherine the Great) since the beginning of spring break and finished it this morning. Empress Catherine the Great is one of my favorite female royals and her story truly makes me admire her! On her coronation day the whole Russia bowed down to her as she made her way to the throne with her heavy crown and coronation jewels, and it was also on this day she could finally gained her respect after living unhappily for many years.
It took me a long time to draw her crimson and silver Romanov crown, as well as the decorations on her gown. Still I enjoyed drawing her because doing this makes me feel positive through this dark pandemic period, and art can always cheer me up whenever I feel down or experiencing a difficult time. I also wish everyone to stay happy & healthy and do the things you love during the coronavirus outbreak!!
