「 pos. [ objective, practical, meticulous, dutiful ]

Due to his nature as the Spirit of Balance, he was naturally inclined to always be objective. One to always hold a fair opinion of things as he made sure to listen to both sides of the story before he started anything. He rarely ever would make any unfair judgment or side with anyone until he knew every little detail, and even then he would prefer to point out the facts and be a mediator of sorts. A practical man, he was one who rarely ever tried to do anything that wasn't necessary. He was the sort of guy who believed he didn't need to buy anything expensive if the cheaper alternative worked just fine. A meticulous fellow, he's always keen on the details and made sure to do everything as the recipe was listed. Always cleaning after himself, leaving his room to look more spotless than when he first got it. Dutiful to a fault, he always made sure to stay responsible to the end. Even when no human had traveled his domain for the longest time, he would stay until it truly was a lost cause. Now, he busied himself with trying to fight against the maero and doing his job as a bartender.
Having lived a sheltered life and being stuck in one space for so long, he was greatly curious about many things. He held a great desire to learn and understand everything that came into his hands. Unafraid to ask questions and sometimes trying too much to solve the questions in his mind, he tend to come off as quite rude or in need of self-preservation. Being the Spirit of Balance made him one of the most neutral beings there were. His whole life was spent on being the safe zone, the one who never really sided with anyone and only offered to protect the victims of the crossfire. He found it difficult to make proper decisions or forming a solid opinion of his own, instead, he would rather remain as the third party who stayed on his own lane. Admittedly, being permanently passive in everything that wasn't maero did leave him in awkward positions at times for it. Still, decision making was difficult and he won't pick sides any time soon.
Socially stunted, he found himself unsure how to go about interacting with others whilst abiding the unspoken social customs. Implementing himself awkwardly in conversations, giving much too short answers, and generally just missing the usual beats. It didn't help that he had the sensitivity of a boulder, which means almost none at all. He lacked the finesse to take care of others outside of letting them in a safe zone, only having watched people from the sidelines. Sometimes he would be too blunt about something or push buttons he didn't mean to due to his lack of awareness. Speaking of a lack of awareness, he could not read the atmosphere all that well. He was that one guy who wanted to show off the joke he learned recently as an achievement when someone looked like they were down in the dumps. Truly, socializing was still a mystery to him. Surprisingly transparent, it's quite easy to read the man despite his general lack of expressions. It also helped that he was generally open to answer anything if asked. What really gave him away was the tone of his voice and the light in his eyes, though. Noting those would give an easy access to notice if he was in a brighter or dimmer mood at that moment.
Biography:
[ act 001 ]
There once was a country that found itself in a civil war for the longest time. It was a country riddled in chaos, wrecking itself from the inside due to the battle of strong opinions. However, within this war, there weren't simply just two sides. No, there was a third and arguably they were the ones who suffered most. The neutral faction, the victims of the war who tried their best to survive in horrible times. Without actual protection from either side, they had to always move around in hopes they wouldn't be in the heart of danger.
These people were tired, though. Their numbers were dwindling, they were hurting, and most importantly they needed a break from the madness. It was them who wished with all their hearts for a stable place they could belong, one that wasn't going to be hurt by this foolish war. All they wanted was somewhere that would not be hurt by these warring opinions. Then from there, the Spirit of Balance was born.
He was the one who guided these unaffiliated people, those who chose no sides or cared for right or wrong. Within this broken country, a small area became available for them to rest. Untouched by the war, never a target by any side, people could gather and rest. The fear of being harmed in the crossfire was no longer apparent in their minds. Sometimes, it wasn't even just them that found their way into this safe haven. Soldiers of the war who didn't have their heart in it had also managed to enter this zone. Yet, those who were too far into an end of the spectrum could never find or cared for it.
None of them knew how it was possible, but a flash of gold and silver could be spotted at times. Rumors of an entity having turned this to his domain and letting them in grew rampant among them. Soon enough, with what resources they had, the people began to form an altar so they could give their thanks to the spirit who let them in and be protected from the war.
[ act 002 ]
War was not constant, rather it was the brilliant flames that ran rampant before it got snuffed out one way or another. The country suffered greatly from it, and it seemed the only untouched area was the neutral zone. People only dared to leave it after they felt that they were safe for sure, and when they did—they've realized that they had become the majority and were the only ones able to bring back life to their land.
Soon enough, they will all leave the safe haven to fix the rest of the country. Once finished, they deigned the spirit's domain as a small city that no one could live in unless during specific conditions such as another war. It was also known as the holy city, with worshippers leaving gifts in the speculated borders to thank the spirit that resided within.
Over the years, certain people will found themselves drawn to the city in order to be able to relax. Not necessarily good, nor were they bad, just individuals who were walking on the fine line in between. An assassin who killed his target to save his family would find himself staying in the city to protect himself, becoming pleasantly surprised to see that no one looked for him there. A poor girl who got the short end of the stick will find herself running into the city, using the peace and quiet to get her mind off of things.
Sometimes, more war may it be civil or larger came to the country once again, and during those times the odd city remained the neutral party's savior.
[ act 003 ]
He stayed within his city, always watching as he warded off individuals whose cores were too unbalanced out and taking in those that were stable. He never interacted with them, and the gifts on his borders were still odd things he sometimes tried to figure out. Humans were odd to the being that had only responsibly stuck to his duties. He was content in his little spot, only watching people with curious eyes but never knowing or truly wanting to interact with them.
There was never the idea of leaving or to expand, not when it was never necessary. Plus, war tends to be random in timing, and he didn't want to leave the poor people unattended. That's why he locked himself in the invisible cage that was his city. Merely waiting for the next human to come and let them rest.
However, one day after many, many years of this routine—he found dark spirits making themselves known. The people from the country no longer could feel the tug that came with the city to protect them. No matter how deep within the country his home was, everyone ran from it and could no longer find the rumored safe haven that had been there for them so many times before. He watched as people fell near the borders, then another war broke out and no one entered his domain, and eventually, the country that his whole world belonged in simply...fell.
He could do nothing, stuck in his small space as he watched in horror at how everyone seemed to disappear. No more gifts on the borders, no more people coming in to be protected, and no more country where this city belonged. In fact, at some point when humans finally managed to enter his city, they could not see him. Even worse—they fought on his lands.
He wanted to stop them, and for once he raised his voice so they could hear him, but it was all for naught. So he watched as this land that used to be his home, this safe haven everyone so dearly called it, become just another piece of land that discord could touch once more.
[ act 004 ]
The world outside his city had always been something he was curious about, but now it was something to be scared of as well. He knew nothing but the little he managed to garner from those who came to his home or the gifts on the borders. To see how big the world really was and how different the outside could be was a shock to him. Being unseen helped him to meander about, lost and confused about what to do. Sometimes he even encountered the strange, dark beings that ruined his home and had to fight against them or run away to stay safe.
Eventually, he came across Empyrean Aevum. Here, he was given a purpose once again to help the people by fighting the dark spirits ( which he learned to be known as Maeros ). Moreover, people could see him! Or, well, other fellow spirits really. Still, it was nice to know he was not alone. He also found himself finally able to learn more about the world as a whole and how everyone went about things.
Hm...maybe he should even try to get a job, it would be nice to pass the time when he wasn't out fighting Maero learning about the world.
