While pride art by itself is wonderful, as someone who has felt somewhat disillusioned with the LGBTQ+ community this year, I wanted to draw pride art but I didn't want to just draw... pride art. Last year, I drew a piece of all the FYR characters marching proudly with their pride flags. I wasn't really able to do the same this year: there was only one new major character introduced since then, and he's cisgender-heterosexual. And I didn't just wanna repeat anything from last year, because again, disillusioned. I'm not feeling extremely prideful this year.So I tried to think about what I could draw, but more importantly how I could make it USEFUL to others in some way. Everyone this month is drawing characters in pretty colors, but what could those characters in pretty colors have to say? What is something I think is important for people to hear this month?
It would be this. You are worth fighting for. No matter who or what you are. Whether you're a more common label, or a label so obscure hardly anyone has heard of it. Whether you're black, Latino, Asian, Arab, Native, white, anything else or anything in between. Your gender is worth fighting for. Your sexuality is worth fighting for. Your romantic orientation is worth fighting for. You have the right to fight for the ability to feel safe in your community, safe in your neighborhood, safe in your online spaces, and comfortable with yourself. You have the right to tell someone that they can NOT treat you like that. You have the right to tell a stupid bitch to shut the fuck up. You have the right to not put up with homophobia, transphobia, aphobia, etc under the guise of not wanting to ruin the image of LGBT people. Because guess what: No matter how well you behave or now nice you play with bigots, they will not change their minds on how they feel about us because their hatred is not based on LOGIC. So stop trying to logic it away. Get mad. Bare your teeth. Get damn feral. Get outraged because it is outrageous. Fight for yourself. Because your life and your safety and your HAPPINESS are worth FIGHTING FOR.
I will fight for you too. And so will my characters. Always.

The message was kinda: "I'm great the same way you are great." It came across quite awkward, concidering the message of Mouse's post.

It is a real shame that there are still so many narrow-minded people not thinking outside their small box. And worst of all they are so petty that they will pass down their own narrow-minded thoughts.
Illwill and even hatred towards LGBT is very old and deep, and some people will never think otherwise. But all of them need to keep their thoughts to themselves and let others live their lives free of any kind of abuse. And as importantly, they need to let others form their own conclutions, without them trying to sway it.
I truly wish that the narrow-minded would stop and think their actions over rationally. But I'm afraid that this will be another long war.
I find hurting the bigots in retaliation not very effective on changing their opinion, but at the same time I don't think anything else will either.

As Trump has proven, no matter how your message is interpreted, any attention is good attention. It will get people talking and thinking. And right now, making noise is the best move, as long as it won't devolve to rioting.
