Biography:
Manami was born and raised in California, she was the oldest child out of three and had a twin brother named Ataru. Manami's mother worked as a marine biologist before the birth of her youngest brother, a sickly boy called Kenta. While her father inherited her grandmother's cafe which her family converted into a cat cafe instead of of an owl cafe. Both of her parents were Japanese and from two close-knit families who moved to Hawaii in their teens before moving again to California for her mother's work.

Manami's life was driven by her love of astrology, everything she would do would be based on the Pisces luck and daily reading. One of Manami's other hobbies was gymnastics, which ended up being one of the few talents she actually had. She adored gymnastics until puberty finally hit, making her already low self-confidence drop down to the negatives. There was nothing overly dramatic that happened during Manami's childhood. Both she and her twin brother were very introverted and often kept to themselves for the most part. Manami had tried to make friends throughout her life only to be stuck in the same cycle of being manipulated and used for materialistic gain.

The Yasui family often visited Japan and stayed at the family holiday home. This is where the exception to Manami's shyness happened; every time she visited the holiday home, Manami would play with a local boy. Just before the apocalypse, Manami had gotten permission from her parents to stay at the holiday home while she looked around colleges. Once the outbreak began to happen, Manami was cut off from her family, leaving her isolated from the rest of the world. Her only companion was the local boy she had befriended, together they survived for a decent amount of time, combining Mana's mobility and his ability to actually kill zombies. Despite this, the zombie apocalypse was as unpredictable as ever and the two were stuck in a doomed situation. Her friend hoisted Manami up out of the reach of zombies, leaving Manami to watch has he got engulfed by the crowd. Manami was left alone in an unstable emotional state, alone and with no hope. The only thing that kept her alive was her overbearing anxious nature causing her to flee whenever she felt threatened. Manami eventually turned due to contact with a contaminated water source; her new physical form sparked new life into the girl and a sense of hope, wraiths were surely not natural. They must be due celestial beings or something similar with control over the Earth.
