Before she named herself Bloodcurls, her name was Anne. Before traveling the world with her future partner, she first adored him and his courage to explore and adventure before even speaking to him first.
But he was a celebrity in a sense, at least among those who liked to solve mysteries and watch ghost documentaries late into the night. She was of course one of those but she was also a wizard and knew that ghosts did exist, that evil spirits did manifest in the world and that sometimes demons took possessions of unsuspecting ouija board users. She also knew that somebody had to send those evil spirits back to their domain and this is how she joined Meatneck, as an acolyte at first and later on as a full time employee and later on as a partner.
Their travels took them around the world, even to places where everything seemed fine and free but in fact there was a great oppressive mystery brewing. Right in the heart of Berlin.

She cut off her nose? What on earth for? Her ability to smell, the higher risk of infections, the pain of the action alone and then the constant questions as to why she did it couldn't have been worth the reason why she did it.
Not saying to change it. I just want to understand why since I can't see and upside here. Unless it was being eaten away by something and the only way she would live is if she cut it off to stop it from moving on to the rest of her body.

In our sane opinions it's not worth it, but she's more on the unstable side of things. Somewhat insane actually, but lucid most of the time.
Her partner doesn't have a nose naturally and she wanted to be like him, so she cut her own nose off.
