I wanted to take time to properly credit one of my biggest art influences as of late.

I feel the strong need to address it since in the last year I've excelled in my art craft (at least I think I have) and I've had more people than usual compliment my talent. People have said to me, I love your style, to which I respond, thanks, but it's Temiree's style that you love since he's where I've been learning from. I've had other people straight up say my art looks like Temiree's which gives me an uncomfortable feeling of imposter syndrome.

So I wish to make quite clear that much of where I am currently with art is thanks to him. I've looked at and studied how he composes drawings in order to nail my own. I'm sure one could say I'm a style thief. I'm aware that many artists covet the style they've created and get mixed feelings upon seeing what they've accomplished replicated by others. All I can do is say I give Temiree much credit for where I am currently. My earliest influence was :iconGoldenwolf: and much later :iconTaniDaReal: and among many others when trying to help figure out eyes and expressions.

One hurdle I struggled to overcome when drawing was figuring out why so many artists have eye-popping artwork that looked so much better than my own. My technique was always to add excessive detail or complex shadows to make my stuff stand out more. By studying Temiree's art I realized I was wasting far to much time and I could be more effective by focusing on other elements. And yes his expression drawing is awesome.

I hope that as I progress I can work more on developing my own style and not always look quite so much like him.
But for now I give credit where it's due. Thank you Temiree for teaching me even if you didn't mean to.

Or maybe anyone reading this is laughing at me and thinking, you're a hack for even thinking your art looks anything like Temiree's and don't quit your day job.
