Description
I've been working on this on and off over a few nights when I can.I wanted to create an eldritch, Lovecraft-inspired creature. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.
Rather than go into finer detail, I decided to keep to roughness; I like the looseness.
Photoshop CS5, Wacom Play & Touch.
Edit: Made it into a wallpaper for myself. Here it is (1920x1080) if anyone wants it.

Omg. I realize that this was posted...well, months ago, but it's SO GOOD and I haven't commented on it yet! I would daresay you succeeded in your quest to create a Lovecraft-style monster, since at first, I literally sat there going "wait, where did he find this monster in the canon?! I don't remember seeing it before!" So yeah, good job there c:
And secondly asdf the anatomy and shading. When did you become so talented with digital art/painting? Seriously, everyone's gotten so good at digital stuff, and I sit over here like 'herpaderp, I can do lineart!" xD
Oh, and lastly, those tentacles actually look slimy. Gross. And awesome.

I've been practising quite relentlessly for the past year and a bit (with little content to actually show for it) so I guess it's paying off.

If you're interested, perhaps you could get the Necronomicon if you've not already and read through it.
I think the majority of his work is available online, but it's way nerdier cooler reading from a compilation entitled the Necronomicon.

I just ran a search for the Necronomicon through all the libraries in my pitifully small state, and apparently, none of our twenty or so libraries are nerdy cool enough to have it.
Guess I'll have to settle for one of the less-awesome-sounding books by Lovecraft that we do have, ahah.

Humm, give me some colours for the shadows and lighting and I'll try it out on the next, next piece I do.

try some opposites? like purple n yellow.. or cyan and green peacock colours do a good pallet
