That's a real good question, is one never going to go home ever again and it's pretty much a sacrifice? Is it some temporary fusion dance-esque deal where they'll separate eventually? We'll probably never know :')

Or maybe, just maybe, they get some "hero power" when they get summoned and when they get sent back it turns into hero feathers, and when two duplicate heroes of same star level or more for the one that will go away, the feathers become part of the inheritor, which is why giving that hero another star costs less. It's just an hypothesis of mine, based on my meager observations, but it explains pretty good how this works in my opinion. Waddyathink?

And loool I agree, thank goodness they dodged that bullet, I'd feel awful watching others release their children to the wild :'D

Despite this terrible comic, I keep all my units, hehe ;v; I'm working on even getting the main trio from 2 to 5, with Alfonse there, Sharena about to be ranked up to 5 and Anna at 3, no units left behind in the dust <3
