I was thinking coffee, which can bring also amazing effects (parchment style), but you used tea and ink.

Thanks for the information Β

Oh wow... That is so amazing *^*
The ink and tea stains are great, they add a lot to the drawing.

BTW, you were watching the movie Sherlock Holmes (with Robert D.J.)? You should watch the bbc series Sherlock, it's really awesome

did you draw the splatters yourself? if so, please share technique!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

samanthadoodles In reply to Sebastianswiftwalker [2012-10-24 15:34:14 +0000 UTC]

yes i did! for the ink i alternated between an eye dropper for the more concentrated/darker droplets and using small paintbrushes saturated with water. For the brushes with the diluted ink, I would pinch between thumb and pointer finger at the base of the brush and pull to the tip of the bristles.

For the tea splatters, I simply used a generic tea baggy that I had made tea with and used both techniques I mentioned above. (:

Let me know if you have any more questions!

FcoGoya In reply to samanthadoodles [2012-03-16 15:54:47 +0000 UTC]

It is a complex process of geometric and chromatic composition. I donΒ΄t know how to explain it.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

samanthadoodles In reply to FcoGoya [2012-03-16 16:03:42 +0000 UTC]

i can see what you mean--you have a very good sense of balance in that piece texturally and compositionally, as well as the balance of color throughout the piece.

very cool (:
