Day 14: Lane Boy

So from a creative and meaning stand point, this song has got to be one of my favourites by far ^^

Tyler is basically talking about how music these days have no real substance to them. That people just create songs to make money, and the moment an artist becomes popular, it feels like the fame and fortune blinds them to the point where music is not longer a passion but rather a job, and in a way, that's not right.

You should love what you do, but if you're in it just for the money, then that kind of ruins the creative and artist aspect of song writing and music in general.
The main focus that the song puts emphasis on is the creativity of songs as I stated before. The Music Industry always thinks that singers and musicians have to be like a highway, you always stick with the same formula and sound and you'll never lose, no turns, no twists, no nothing, and you'll never die out, but Tyler wants to be able to break out of that mold.

He doesn't wanna be stuck in one lane for the rest of his life and be forgotten like all the other pop stars out there. He wants to be different, mix things up and stand out from the crowd.
It's people like those who get remembered the most and are the most known, because not only are they a stand-out, but they appeal to more people that way too.

This also relates to artists and painters as well. They believe that they should only do one thing and one thing alone because that's what their fans and watchers like, but in reality, if you be different and try new things all the time, be diverse from the crowd, you'll be known by more people that way instead of a small group, and you'll also become a more talented artist, beacuse you'll have developed skills in a lot more areas.

With this in mind, I went for a piece that showcases a lot of the different mediums that I use on a daily basis; Pencil, Pen and ink, Pencil Crayons, Markers, Digital, and more unconventional colours, and used an art style that I'm just starting to learn but haven't quite mastered yet; chibi!
It's kind of an all over the place piece, but it's made to resemble me as an artist, all of the place, not consistent but still loveable, and very creative. I like to think it's a statement of who I am, and I like that feeling ^^
