Description This is my original Upotte!! character design for the French FAMAS. I found it very weird that this popular French Bullpup weapon was excluded from the anime as a character. It is a modern, practical and widely used rifle.

So anyway, this is how I would picture her if she was in the anime.

If you don't know Upotte!!. Well it is pretty much an anime where firearms are portraited as characters. It has some interesting technical details and historic details and some humor now and then. If you like firearms, than I'm sure you would like this anime.

The GIAT FAMAS is short for Fusil d'Assaut de la Manufacture d'Armes de Saint-Étienne. It is the standard weapon for the French army and uses the standard 5.56x45 mm NATO cartridges. If you'd like more details on the FAMAS, you can check the wiki here.

FAMAS doesn't show up in the animes, but she actually does in the manga.

Do you mean the FAMAS from "Rufuira" part? Because that part came out after I did this drawing. I can not remember FAMAS' appearance in the original manga.

Oh, and she also appears for a few panels as a flashback when the SMG elementary schoolgirl MAT remembers Famas replacing her [and also Milly-Sensei, though not shown] in 1977 when France adopted the Famas as the standard-issue weapon.

Sorry for the late response, and you probably may already be aware of this. The two of the more recently translated chapters for Upotte have Famas appearing with the Seishou girls. Famas works kinda as an interpol agent of sorts tracking yakuza and other crime syndicates by shooting them up in order to temporarily subdue them before capture and interrogation. Just like in Rufuria she's rather unfriendly and stern, but does have a soft side for her human 'partner'.

Is that a Deagle brand Deagle?

I'm not sure I understand your question. I don't see how a Deagle is involved.

It's pretty much how I'd picture the FAMAS too.

One thing of note: This isn't the FAMAS F1/G1 (the "original" FAMAS) but it is instead the FAMAS Surbaissé, a low-profile variant that has a railed low-profile carrying handle instead of the large, rectangular, non-railed carrying handle of the FAMAS F1/G1.

Wikipedia also interestingly has no mention of the Surbaissé variant, but it's what eventually evolved into the current G2 Félin.

Yeah, I've based this FAMAS on the Felin version. In my opinion it looks better than the big bridge the F1 version has. I have not heard about a Surbaissé version though. Interesting to know that it was the version that led to the Felin. Strange Wiki doesn't mention it.

This looks a lot like the FAMAS from CoD 7: Black Ops...

Could well be. I based the design of this FAMAS on the Felin version. It's been a really long time since I've played Black Ops, but it could well be true that that version was in the game

It was. Actually pretty anachronistic weapon appearance. One of the reasons I don't like Black Ops.

I'm not very fond of the COD series myself, though I've played a couple of it's games. Naah, I'm more interested in games like ARMA II and Battlefield 3. But that's just my opinion.

MW2 featured the FAMAS for the 1st time, but it had only 3-shot bursts.

As for the FAMAS in the BF series?

Try and find the "Back to Karkand" expansion pack for Battlefield 3.

One of the weapons included is the FAMAS Surbaissé

Yeah, I know. I use that weapon reguraly on BF3. It's 1000 RPM is amazing when controlled.

First time I've played with the FAMAS was on Counter-Strike Source. It was named differently in that game (Clarcion?), but it was definitely a FAMAS. Had a 3 round burst mode and a full auto mode.

It's Clarion for the CS FAMAS.

The A2 model of Eru is also in that BF3 expansion pack.
