I first drew the Afghan Girl from National Geographic back in 2009. Two years later I drew it in 2011 which is this picture here:

I decided to redraw it from the skills I learned over the years and in Gabrielle DeCesaris's Skillshare class. Or as she's known on DA as *gabbyd70
I'll probably post a draw this again meme to show a side by side comparasion, but I'm REALLY happy with my progress, the details in the hair and the eyes, the smoothness of the skin and lips. I've really learned that it's better to take your time with something rather than to just try and crank out a drawing in one day. I'll probably draw this again in another two years to see how far I've gotten!!!
