Actually, JK Rowling wanted to have Harry and Hermione together, but, do to the overwhelming amount of fans wanting to see Ron and Hermione, she did that.

Finally.Β I agree with this pairing 100%. Even Rowling herself admitted that Harry should have been with Hermione. I suspect the reason it didn't happen is because both Emma Watson and Rupert Grint are better actors than Dan Radcliffe, so pairing up Watson with Radcliffe would further highlight how bad of an actor he is. It is a shame that the director's bad choice of actors messed up the characters' love lives, big time. I feel like even Luna would be a more interesting match for Harry than Ginny. She, like Hermione, actually saved Harry's butt several times. What did Ginny ever do for him?Β

I think Daniel Radcliffe is a good actor. And he has such amazing chemistry with Emma Watson on screen. With that scene in Deathly Hallows where they dance, I was just begging them to kiss! Hopefully, someday the two of them will be cast as a couple in a movie and I can just pretend they're Harry and Hermione. Or an adult version of Harry and Hermione forced to live as Muggles, maybe.

I don't think a writer would ever change such a huge part of their story just because of actors, I doubt that's the reason Harry and Ginny ended up together. More likely, JK Rowling wanted Harry, Ron, and Hermione to all be part of the same family (the Weasley family).

Mmm I think it could, considering how much money Rowling is making from those movies. Rowling stated herself she wanted Hermione and Harry to be together, but she has to make the "personal" decision. Hmmm....

It's because Daniel Radcliffe killed it with his terrible acting. His personality in the movie makes it hard to imagine him with the much more talented Watson, while in the book, you can totally see Harry and Hermione getting together.Β
