Here's number 22 on my list of favorite dinosaurs! The "thick headed lizard," Pachycephalosaurus(try saying that five times fast )! Belonging in the group of dinosaurs known as pachycephalosaurids(which also includes Stygimoloch and Stegoceras), Pachycephalosaurus is the largest of them all, measuring about 15 feet in length! A bipedal herbivore(although rumored to be omnivorous), Pachycephalosaurus as well as other dinosaurs of it's kind might have been a very tough dinosaur! It's most well known feature is the large bony 10 inch thick dome on top of it's skull(which could cushion it's brain). Though these dinosaurs were herbivores, they could have been tough fighters that may have competed in headbutting rituals with others of their kind. Not much is known about the anatomy of the Pachycephalosaurus, with only skulls being described. It could have had binocular vision and bony spikes on it's head area(though blunt instead of sharp)! The fact that this herbivore was a tough fighter definitely makes me consider it a favorite!
