Psst. Guys. Guess what? I like Les Miserables. And I like Pokemon. So this was born.

So, my reasonings behind who is what Pokemon...

I wanted the majority of the cast to be Eeveelution-based. Because I love Eevee, and I love this show, and IT'S A FREE INTERNET GOSH DANG IT!!!

Jean Valjean and Javert as an Umbreon and an Absol- Well, Valjean is an Umbreon because I thought it might work. Javert is an Absol because it's a Pokemon regarded as "noble" and "strong" like a honest inspector who follows the law. I also wanted these two to be the same type, so their "rivalry" can be better respected.

Fantine as an Espeon- I especially wanted the main love triangle to be Eeveelutions, so the only way for Cosette to be an Eeveelution would be if her mother was an Eevee or Eeveelution. Of course, I chose one of the latter. I thought a lovely Espeon would fit the lovely Fantine.

Cosette as a Leafeon- Like I said, I wanted her to be an Eeveelution, and I figured a pretty Leafeon would fit pretty little Cosette.

Marius as a Vaporeon- I wanted him to be an Eeveelution, and since the name Marius has water-based-roots (MARIus/Marine), the Water Type one was the best bet.

Eponine as a Jolteon- She loves Marius, but he goes the more gorgeous Cosette. Since Jolteons are not quite as beautiful as Leafeons, I figured she'd be better as a Joltoen. Also, her father was made a Raichu -also an Electric Type-, so I guess it would direct her into what she wished to evolve into.

The Thenardiers as a Raichu and a Flareon- First off, their daughter is a Joltoen, so her mother would need to be an Eeveelution. So I decided a Flareon would fit the Madame. And I made the Monsieur a Raichu because, even though he's a tall and skinny man in the new movie, he was heavier set in the play version I saw, so that's how I see him. And a fat, jolly, sneaky Raichu fit the bill.

Gavroche as an Eevee- Now, originally I wouldn't have made him an Eevee. I actually wanted the cute little stinker to be a feisty Nidoran. But I remember reading somewhere that Eponine and Gavroche are brother and sister, so that would make him an Eevee. Also he has freckles and blue eyes just 'cause.

Enjolras as a Zangoose- Ah, the bull-headed, strong-hearted Enjolras. Marius's best friend, too, I believe. I didn't want him to be an Eeveelution, but still a bombastic creature that has strength to it, since he is the leader of the schoolboys. So, I thought, hey, a Zangoose might work.
