Description I found this unfortunate fieldfare on our yard yesterday. I took it to my studio and painted it during the evening. I didn't know it had such beautiful colors beneath the wings.

I like the texture of the brushstrokes on the wings, the visible brush marks help to create the illusion of feathers. The use of impasto in the highlights creates a three dimensional effect.
