Description so my work has been undergoing a bit of a change recently. ..
i'm now using water colours ...

before, only the original sketch was organic. then all colouring was done in good old photoshop
now the sketch and the colour ( where the water colours come in ) are both so done before the computer even gets a look in.

i've wanted to change the way i work because i've been gettin bad pains in my hands from working at a computer for too long ... hoping it's not the dreaded carpel tunnel syndrome, but we shall see what the doctor says

... sorry that was really boring. but anway

I agree with ~Kajenx with how the water colors give your picture more personality. It's a little brighter than your usual style but it works just as well for me. you could stick with it to give your hands a break~

The dog is cute. And I'm betting it doesn't want to take a bath. ;D

thanks, this comment was particuarly useful as i was thinking exactly what you say . !!
i think the water colours allow the picture to be lighter without loosing it's charm.. .
with the digital ones, if i make them too light i think they loose something..

so yup, i think i will definitely be sticking with the watercolours...

That's just too cute!! I love it! Your style is always fun.

Oy, I don't blame you there. I hope that Carpel Tunnel isn't the issue, but if it is, I'm sure you'll be able to overcome it. However, I envy your water coloring ability. I'm lucky if I achieve coloring in a paint program. ; ) Someday, I'd like to take up painting though, just for fun.

i hope my hands get better too, ... hopefully it's just something less serious like rsi.
god loosing the ability to use my hands would make me .... well ... totally usless

i'm glad you like this pic, i am quite pleased with it too,
i was determined to work out how to use watercolours,.... i tried loads when i was younger at college, but could never quite master them... think i finally understand (( by looking at other peoples works and practicing all week )
yay... go water colours,.. you should get set and try, they are much fun !!

I agree, that would be an extremely hard pill to swallow (I don't think I could). But I don't think it'll be as severe as that. I grant you, I'm no doctor, but I really don't think it will. In either case, don't be discouraged! I'm sure things will work out.

I think it is safe to say that your determination has paid off.
hehe! Your excitement is contagious. I believe I've seen some water coloring kits around, so when I gain some extra money, perhaps I'll invest in one.

I really like this one! I like how it isn't so dark, and the colors seem to have more personality. Maybe watercolor is better?

i was very much hoping you would like this one. working in water colours is so much better for many reasons.
like i said the pain in the hands was why, but it is infact much more fun to paint, than sit for hours working away at a wacom...
best thing of all though is how much faster the process is, ... i think this piece took me about 2 hours in total!, compared to 2 days if i'd done it digital ..
it's secretly one of my favourites ... i'd like to do most of my work in water colours from now on ..
so yes, i'm very happy you like it as much as the others !!

ooo I like the water colour the textures look a lot more raw, but detail is perhaps lacking..and the lighting is better in your old method though :S
Either way, the atmosphere is still there from all your lovely characters and settings.

i can imagine otter would be looking at it rather concerned

yeah hopefully hands will get better, i got reffered to a neurologist ( if i spelt that right it would be amazing)
but hopefully it's just rsi or something.

glad you like the water colours, ive decided they are much more fun than my horrible , pain inducing computer
