Description In autumn, the humidity of the Geneva Lake often produces clouds of mist which settle in the whole valley. Most of the time, these conditions result in a thick layer of stratus rising up to about a 1000m in altitude, plunging the valley in a depressing dullness. But that particular morning only a very thin layer had formed right over the lake. As soon as the sun rose behind the mountains, the whole mist disappeared within minutes. The town in the foreground is Vevey, most famous for being host of the headquarters of the world biggest food manufacturer, i.e. NestlΓ©.

This is a really remarkable shot! It must be surreal living in that town and seeing the layer of mist in the distance nearly at street level.

I love the contrast of the city and the mountains, and the fog feels like nature's way of reaching out (or into) the town. great capture sir!
