Description This is my second drawing of Jesus Christ. This has actually been on my computer for a while but after seeing some truly beautiful drawings and paintings of the Lord on DA today I decided to put it on.
This piece is more based on how He is described in Revelation 1:12 "...dressed in a robe reaching down to his feet and with a golden sash around his chest. His head and hair were white like wool, as white as snow, and his eyes were like blazing fire." Also in Rev. 19:16 "On his robe... he has his name written: King of Kings and Lord of Lords."
This Illustration is also for a book I have been writing (The Second book actually, the other Jesus picture is for the first.) I've incorporated some of the Japanese culture (Except Shinto belief and Buddhism those don’t count) into the book and the art as well but the message remains the same. Besides God did make the nations...

Really good drawing, but isn't Jesus' real name Yeshua of Nazareth/Josefson?

I just go off of what I know... What is mentioned in the Bible. After all the bible has been proven to be 98.33% pure and gets better with each new manuscript discovered. Besides he has many titles and names in many languages. The Japanese call him Iesu Kirisuto for example... Names don't really matter unless prophicised that a person would be called "So and so..."
For example Daniel and his friends where given pagan names (Belteshazzar, Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego) when they where in Babylon but obtained much favor in God's eyes.
I'll look into that though.

I myself am a Nihilist, but I think it's good that people believe in religion, as long as something good comes out of it. So keep believing and draw art, just be careful with what you do "in God's name". x)

And, you should correct one thing on your profile: There is no such thing as Christian Rock. Common misunderstanding.

Actually there is actually Christian Rock and Metal... I'm listening to one band now. You can buy the CD at the store Gospel Supplies therefore it IS Christian. You can also find the Genre on Wal-mart.com Downloads.

But it actually doesn't exist. Call it what you want, as long as you enjoy the music. But, you should give Extreme Metal a try ;D (No, we're not a bunch of Satanists, relax. We're just a bunch of geeks. xD)

the background landscape reminds me off the book "pilgrim's progress" because of the gate and the city on the hill, i really like this style of what i'm guessing is painting or perhaps pencil work, in either case, it's very good

Thanks, Funny thing is it's actually done on the computer but it does look like I used a little water coloring, so I see what you mean. I personally would rather paint by hand...but whenever I try that it has a lot of white spots so I use the computer instead and get a much smoother look.

This is such an awesome drawing! It totally glorifies the Lord.

That sash is totally awesome. King of Kings and Lord of Lords!

Also, is the city on the hill in the top right "a shining city upon a hill"? Awesome!

I really like how you made him literally "white as snow", instead of simply Caucasian or some other Human race.

You really like to pay attention to the Bible verses, which is a real indicator of your skill and knowledge...not to mention artistic ability.

Please draw more hahaha

Thanks! Like I said before this is actually for a story that I am writing (The other piece too), He just needed some more royal looking robes besides His armor, and make to Him look a little more like how He is described in the Bible (Except for the Japanese robes). The city in the background is actually Heaven which explains the weird colors for the sky and clouds. The phrase "King of Kings and Lord of Lords" is also on the armor of the other one, it's just a little hard to read. I originally intended him to have an awesome pair of wings, but I forgot to add them…oh well, it turned out nice anyway. Maybe I’ll do another of Him with wings…
