I attempted to make a civil war pic with a style similar to style. though not as good as his work, i'm still quite plesed with the resultsRelated content

I really love the action that this piece captures. You put a great amount of effort into it, I applaud that! The intensity reminds me of Bull Run, minus the horses. The cosmetics chosen to depict the soldiers are almost perfectly accurate, though in the lower right I can see you used a 'Nam war jacket. That's understandable, considering there's not a huge choice for Civil War clothing, and most Southern soldiers didn't have access to a proper uniform.
As for the colors in the picture, I feel that most coloring is proper, but the one thing that shouldn't be standing out too much is the Confederate flag. Don't get me wrong, the photoshopping is spot-on. I just feel that it could have been edited a tad bit to look duller and fit in with the rest of the image. You could also alter the entire picture to look like a very old war-time photo.
I also feel that a Union flag could be flown on the opposite side of the image to balance it out. Of course the south did end up defeating the north in Bull Run, but maybe you could show the flag falling for some powerful symbolism.
Overall, a nice historic picture, I'd give it a 7/10.

May I remind people that the Civil War was started mostly on the matters of economy. But you must also remember that at the time, slaves were considered economy instead of human beings. The Union was still overwhelmingly prejudiced against black people, lots thought slavery was okay, and they didn't even let them fight in the war until the very end. However, Southerners were the ones who didn't abolish slavery until they lost. And I'm sure you all have seen the whole "The Confederate flag is a symbol of my HERITAGE"!!! thing. Surprise surprise, their HERITAGE treated people who had a different skin color worse than dirt! Over 1 million African people DIED on the slave ships to America! It's absolutely awful what the South did, but the North isn't much better either. Stay woke.

I didn't think it was a "shattered Nation". It was just "freedom-loving People" against "barbaric, evil-hearted Assholes" with medieval thinking.

freedom and barbaric. the war was much more complicated than that. and your opinions doesn't change the fact that this conflict shattered the nation, brother fought brotherΒ and the bitterness and hatred still lives on to this day.
