Description A further step in a journey towards an unknown, distant place. This has a kind of a story attached to it, but I can't really put it into words.

I know that the colours aren't as impressive as in The Journey I. It is meant rather as an atmospheric continuation, the feeling of someone travelling through surreal, strange landscapes. I think I did this one before the other, so they weren't even meant as a series back then. But I decided there should be more of this kind of work in my gallery, so I made it a series.

I am quite displeased with the shadow - it doesn't even really look like one. I tried to redo it but only messed it up even more.

The celestial body up there is indeed a circle. Wether it is a star, a planet or something else, I won't tell.
Maybe I don't know.

great drawing too! I've seen something like this before, only then it was in a desert.. This one is more catchy, with the shadow

Thanks. I do remember something like this in desert style too, but that was way better. IT was a Daily Fav, I think.

Its so magical.

Im listening to ATC - So magical and the song fits perfect with this pic. Very dream like... almost makes you feel like you could just let go of this reality and just float among snow and fly up to the moon.

Enchanting.

I love the style you have in these paintings (The Journey II and Hopping through the green ). You should really make more with this style! The different tones of blue. Keep them coming!

There sure will be more! I really enjoy working with acrylics after having worked with biros and other stuff for years Unfortunately, they don't sell this type of student paint any longer.... I guess I will have to go on a quest to find it!

I like this. I like the free feel its got to it, and how the blue shades make it seem really cold. Have you ever looked at any of Nicholas Roerich's work? It reminds me of that alot. Well, his work of the Himilayas anyway.

Thank you so much. I will take a look at his work right away, you made me curious.

Like I said before. I really love the blue colour of this. It really has that feeling of night, of darkness.

I'm glad you feel the atmosphere of the image. It was indeed intented to have a very nocturnal (and pressuring...or pressing..or however you say that) touch to it.

Talescaper In reply to Samuran [2006-06-11 14:41:47 +0000 UTC]

To tell you the truth, it actually feels very calm to me. It's the kind of sky I'd travel thousands of miles for just to be able to sleep underneath it.

That would be so nice...to travel for miles and miles through a landscape devoid of human life, filled with all kind of little miracles...

...where's the plane to Asia?

Look's like I'm first to comment... I love it. By quite simple means you achieved an astonishing effect. It's very dreamlike - mostly thanks to the very dynamic composition and the choice of colors. Nice job

Thank you very much for the fav. I hope to do more of this in the future, on larger canvas (this is A4 and thus quite limitating).
