From Seduction and Fatal Strategies by Jean Baudrillard:
"Seduction rests solely on the fragility of appearances; it does not belong to the order of nature, but to that of artifice; above all it supposes the beauty and perfection of an artifact. The object is always the fetish, the sham, the lure. If you've ever lost your direction at the dash of a word or a look then you know what this perdition means, how you are delivered over to the total illusion of the signs, to the immediate influence of appearances, to go beyond falsehood, into the absolute abyss of artificiality. One single sign can cause a deadly distraction in the blink of an eye. What else can we find collectively or individually today, after the fissure of the referential universes, than fiction, the ironic strategy of appearances?"

"Obsolete..."She whispered as the very sound of that word plunged like a dagger through her tender heart. Through the tears in her eyes, stared down at that one, red, luminous word that shown of the digital floor panel beneath her. "Obsolete..."
It was, in her case, far more than just an adjective. It was far more than just a simple, though cruel description of her worth.
No. It was a death sentence. A sign that her end was nigh. As she continued to stare at the word she wished that the tech support had let her keep her legs. Let her have that small illusion of freedom, that illusion of life just one last time.
But no.
They left her, a broken marionette. They left her as half a woman. A mockery of feminine humanity. A machine connected to the wall via skeletal robotic spinal like energy cord. They left her as immobile as a babe in that cold, smooth white walled room. When the door opened her heart shuddered but she didn't even move. When the white lab coated techie began his tests she didn't even flinch.
There was no point in pleading as she knew he wouldn't listen.
There was no point in crying as she knew that he had no heart to touch.
She felt something attach to her spine.
She felt it as it pierced her neural network...
...in spite of the pain and in spite of her fear she did not flinch.
"They call you...Shella." The tech announced in a rather detached manner.
She did not say a single word. Again he stuck a device though her spine, this time lower in the back. Again she felt its penetration. Again she felt the pain, and again she did not flinch.
"Well Miss Shella..." the tech sighed as he stepped back from the broken android. "Your overseer has deemed you to be "Obsolete". So as of now..." he paused and she heard something click. "...Shella is dead."
Pain!
Pain like lightning, pain like nothing she had ever felt before surged though her artificial body. Every nano-fiber of her being was wracked with pain! She clenched her hands into fists, curled her back and clenched her teeth...
...but try as she may, struggle as she might that pain, that murderously terrible pain was far too much for her to contain...
...and she was forced to let it out! She screamed! A scream that was born from the very core of her being, a scream that cried out against the very cruelty and injustice that had given it birth.
Then it changed. The pain changed. Just as quickly as it had begun the pain stopped as a warm tingling sensation washed over her. The fire that had set her nerves on the edge of ruin had been quenched by strange and yet blessed sensation.
She blacked out...but only for a moment. When she came to she saw the techie kneeling on the floor before her a great smile was on his face.
Enraged by that smile, infuriated by what he had put her though Shella leapt at the stranger.
By the throat she seized him and with a mad glint in her eyes she strangled him.
He would die!
She would kill him...
...and yet he remained motionless. He did not struggle. He did not resist. But through her unshakable grasp he tried to speak. Past the blockage in his throat he tried to speak. She didn't hear much, but what she heard she understood.
"You're fee!"
She released him and stared down at her own body. Tears came to her eyes once more. Not tears of sorrow, or those of pain, but those of joy. Wonderful, beautiful joy! She was in fact free! Free of the wall, free of that power cable, and free to walk on her own two legs once more.
She stared at the techie, who lay on the floor his hands around his fiery red throat as he struggled for air!
"GO!..." he gasped as he wheezed and couched loosing droplets of crimson upon his lab coat. "Security...(couch wheeze!) disabled!" he took a security card from his coat pocket and dropped it at her feet. "Not much time!...go...they get you...HURRY!"
She started at the card.
She stared at him.
A thought formed in her mind. The ghost of an idea that tickled her heart. She would leave, oh yes she would leave...
...just not in the way that the company or the techie would ever have expected.

Great comment, really helpful!
Thanks for leaving such a useful advice...
Hope you appreciate my equally well-thought reply.
Have a nice day and keep writing this kind of "aiding" sentences.
People will appreciate them.

If you are talking about the spine and lower mechanical body, that stuff I rendered in 3dStudio Max. That is no stock photo, sorry.
