Not evil. I honor them! They were brave soldiers, fighting for their fatherland! True evil are bolshviks, muricans and brits!
British bombers bombing dresden the 17th february 1945 with harris bombers (dresden had on this time not much military or weapon production, only civilists).
Or the sovets mass raping german woman and killing them. Even the polish suffered (massacre of katyn). Or the american carpetbombing and the "rheinwiesenlager", where german POWΒ΄s starved to death under direct command of (((Eisenhower))).
I dont see evil in germans, and i like it, that this picture dont portray the "evil".

Soviet soldiers raped and killed german women because german soldiers raped and killed our women. It was not "barbarian wildness" it was emotional revenge of people who were blinded by rage. Germans provoked that reaction by theirΒ monstrous crimes against our unarmed civillians. Before German invasion and genocide against us, russians idolize germans and imitate them.Β

Please look into the Waffen-SS. They are a well known branch of the third reich's military, particularly for their war crimes and atrocities of all kind...
Of course war is cruel, on every sides and your examples are legit, but there is no reason to honor these men.

Not only SS, all German military were trained to kill people of "lower races".Β Also Third Reich's government allowed soldiers to do ALL THEY WANT on eastern front. Rapes, tortures and mass murders of civillians were decriminalized and granted. Ideology of NSDAP meant to destroy 30 millions of Slavic people to clear lands for German colonization, and make survived people a slaves for German masters.

If you edited the foto to make him look evil, it would work. He just looks tired...

I'm not going to waste time describing my feelings towards the Nazis, but this is a powerful photo. Well done.

Cool reenactor. I didn't think it looked evil. He is just a normal soldier.

This is a really realistic and cold memory from the second world war, it also gives this image a personal touch, like it's the ghost of a SS soldier that has rissen from the grave and reappeared like this ghost that can't get no rest....

You're more than welcome!
Even though this is a german soldier, and what these SS soldiers did really makes me sick, I try to seek behind the obvious motive and try to see the deeper meaning, and a soldier is a soldier no matter what country he/she originates from, and they all have the same feelings and dreams, and it is fascinating how soldiers in war can share a bond despite being enemies in the battle field...

That's the thing about art, not always easy to see past the obvious motive, many don't see that there is something more to it than the eyes can see....
Maybe they would see it if you explained this in the artist comment box...

I see, well, if people don't are able to look past the obvious, then they could miss a lot of things...
