Description I got some new pan pastels and I am experimenting with them. This is my first attempt. I loved them.

This is so very lovely Sandie, as many of the other commentors have already noted. I've never tried pan pastels and and wondering if you might be willing to describe how you apply them to the paper, how you layer them (do you use any fixative between layers, and such ... I suspect that many others, besides myself would be interested in pan pastel technique tips. Barrie

Thank you Barrie. I've used pastelmat paper, and I applied the pastels with the sponges that they make to go with them. I didn't need to use any fixatives. The colors blend nicely and you can add new color on top with no problems. You should try them. They are my favorite medium.
