I knew that there was quite a lot of shippy stuff between these two, but I never imagined that Mike and Bryan would be able to make them a couple. Kudos to them for such character diversity.
The only thing about this decision that I'm worried about is the danger that people will now only remember this show for having a bisexual main character.

They said it themselves: "The main themes of the Avatar universe have always revolved around equality, justice, acceptance, tolerance, and balancing differing worldviews."
And I think they did a wonderful job, and we all have to understand that sexuality does not define a person as a whole. I'm sad that some people stopped liking the series just because of this ending... people who followed it since ATLA book 1 and they think the Universe has been ruined... for me, it just became more real.

Looking back, I think I might have been a bit hasty when I typed up this point. A rewatch of book 4 reminded me that there's plenty of stuff to like about this show besides Korrasami: kickass fight sequences, loads of awesome female characters, some great villains for the last two seasons, an enjoyable lead character and great character interactions and development, to name a few.

Agreed. I personally don't give a damn about other people's sexuality.

For me, Korrasami's a nice bonus on top of an already great show; bisexuals get some pretty decent representation in media, we get an official couple that has a decent chance of survival, it's an unexpected yet believable course of action, and Korra and Asami look good together.

Yeah, we first came to love this universe with a bunch of kids wanting to stop to bad guy, and the evolution from there to where are we know is stunning. The series has come so far, and has still a lot of potential. I hope Bryke could take this amazing world and keep growing it, because it's amazing.

Mike and Bryan gave an official statement on their Tumblr page! Its canon! WE CALLED IT! They had been planning it since Book 2 (according to Bryan's post)! Everyone kept telling us we were crazy lmao but these people were clearly watching this show with a heteronormative lens. Come on man, its plainly fuckin' obvious they liked each other. It was subtle because ITS NICK. NICK-EL-ODEON. God people are so dense.
As expected, much of the fanbase is bitching still, saying that they may break up down the road, but we all know that's bullshit. This is Aang and Katara all over again. The parallel is unreal. They aren't breaking up. Besides, Mike and Bryan specifically said in their statement that Mako and Korra are NEVER getting back together. So I guess that's it.

One have to be blind not to see how good they work together. An even if it was subtle, it was build up with so much maestry, it felt so natural. I loved it.
Makes you think about how important is to know a person before judging them (Asami) and not to get in a relationship that doesn't make you a better person (Makorra, of once).

As someone that only jumped on the ship in ep seven of the final season (when the subtext was so overt it practically became text), I can only imagine how much the finale must have felt like an incredible validation for you long-time Korrasami shippers.

It was amazing, and yet most of us saw it as an impossible goal to achieve... but Bryke did a wonderful work and developed their relationship in such a natural way that made my heart overjoy with pure happiness at the end.

I especially love that Bryke wanted this shipping so bad, he kept certain storyboard artists in the dark. So when they saw the ending with them going on vacation they were like "Wait, we didn't animate that. Where we supposed to? Because I didn't."

I thought too that they were going to leave everyone single... but they didn't. The implications of that last scene are pretty clear... Korra and Asami share a bond that goes beyond simple friendship... and I love it.
