Description
It's been over a hundred years since I've seen my dad and I miss him dearly. And Yoruichi has gone into hiding. So I've been living at the Kuchiki mansion with Byakuya. But I don't sleep there. I'm always busy in the Squad 4 barracks. And I'm really not happy with Byakuya. I know it was 50 years ago when Hisana died but I still feel hurt. I thought we had something. But anyway, things in Squad 4 have gotten busy since the Ryoka attack. Captain Unohana is so busy that she had to gather students from the Soul Reaper academy. There's a girl here named Ruganki, she claims to be Rukia's younger sister, but I had Mayuri do a blood test just to be sure. I'm still waiting for the results. But I hope I get to go to the Hill. Mezuki was interrupted but the sounds of screaming. She quickly got up and ran to one of the rooms. "What's going on?" She asked.
"Lady Mezuki, we're trying to heal the member of Squad 6 but he won't let us." Ruganki answered. Mezuki walked over to the wounded Soul Reaper, and looked at him. Her stare made him less tense and relax. Ruganki looked at Mezuki. "Wow that was so cool!" Ruganki smiled at Mezuki.
Mezuki sensed someone at the door of the room. "Come in." Mezuki said in a calm voice.
"Mezuki, we have the test results for you." Said a member of Squad 12. He handed her the paper.
Mezuki opened the paper and read it with caution. "I guess you weren't lying Ruganki." Mezuki rubbed her chin. "Looks like in I need to have a long talk with Captain Kuchiki." Mezuki walked out of the room.
Captain Unohana was walking Mezuki's way. "Ah, Mezuki, I was looking for you. I'm going to be delayed and I was wondering if my most loyal member could take my spot on Sokyoku Hill for a while." She asked.
"Yes Captain Unohana. But don't expect me to be nice to Captain Soi Fon." She said smiling at Unohana.
"Please get along with the Captains there Mezuki. I know there are some you don't like but please be nice." Unohana said.
"Captain!" Yelled a small girl's voice. Mezuki turned and looked at Ruganki. "Let me accompany Lady Mezuki. Besides Rukia is my older sister!" Ruganki ran next to Mezuki.
"It's true Captain and I don't mind. If anything happens I will keep her safe." Mezuki said.
"As you wish. Now get going, don't be late." Unohana smiled at the girls.
The girls flash stepped their way to the Hill. As they walked up the stairs all of the Captains there looked at them.
"Mezuki Urahara, what are you doing here?" asked Yamamoto.
"Captain Unohana was delayed and asked me to take her place." Mezuki answered.
"Very well." He said.
As Mezuki started to walk to her spot, she caught a glimpse of Byakuya, but he had his eyes closed. She looked away disgusted. 'Byakuya, what happened to you?'  Mezuki asked herself. She passed Soi Fon and gave her an evil stare. Ruganki was looking at all of the new faces. But still followed Mezuki. They took their places and thing went on.
As the Captain General gave the order for the Sokyoku to drop, Ruganki gripped Mezuki's shihakusho. Mezuki looked at her. She knelt down and held her close. "Everything will be fine Ruganki." Mezuki watched as Unohana and Isane made their way. They stood with Mezuki.
Everyone watched as the giant sword was cut loose. Mezuki's grip around Ruganki got tighter. "Rukia…" Ruganki whispered. Mezuki looked at her. As the Sokyoku dropped it changed into a giant firebird. Everyone was impressed. But Mezuki wasn't and Ruganki thought it was wrong. She thought this execution was unnecessary.
Mezuki looked away as everything was happening so sudden that she didn't want to look. She felt Ruganki shake and heard her crying. Mezuki picked her up and started to walk away but she didn't get 3 steps away and she knew something was wrong. She looked and saw that someone had stopped the Sokyoku.
"What the hell?" she whispered to herself. She saw Captain Ukitake and Captain Kyoraku. Mezuki was paying more attention to the shield Ukitake held. "The Shihoin shield, but it can't be!" Mezuki looked down at her scarf that had the symbol of the Shihoin family on it. "Yoruichi…" She said. Next thing Mezuki knew the bird was gone and the stand was destroyed. Mezuki put Ruganki down and stared at the orange haired Ryoka. She gripped her zanpaku-to.
"Hey Renji!" the Ryoka yelled. "Catch!" He was about to throw Rukia. When he did, Mezuki and Ruganki got furious.
"All lieutenants go after him!" ordered Yamamoto. Mezuki watched as the higher ranked ran past her and Ruganki.
"Captain Unohana!" Mezuki yelled. "PLEASE!" She begged.
"Stand by Mezuki!" Unohana ordered. Next thing they all knew the lieutenants were down. Mezuki's hand gripped tighter on her sword. Ruganki did the same.
Mezuki knelt down for Ruganki to get on her back. Ruganki jumped on her back and watched as Mezuki ran past the Ryoka. But she was stopped by a familiar spiritual pressure. She turned and watched someone take Soi Fon away. "Yoruichi!" Mezuki yelled. "Dammit! This day has gone to hell, Ruganki!" Mezuki looked at her.
"We have to find Rukia and Renji!" Ruganki yelled.
"I know I know. Don't worry." Mezuki said. She watched the field as everyone was scattering and moving helping and battling. But all of a sudden Mezuki watched small pink petals passed her. "Byakuya!" Mezuki said. She watched as Byakuya was about to fight the Ryoka. Mezuki flash stepped out of the way and near the destroyed stand. The Ryoka looked at Mezuki. "I'll kill you myself if I have too." Mezuki said to him. Mezuki looked away in disgust. Ruganki looked at her.
As the fight got serious, Mezuki's body grew weak from the different increases of spiritual pressers all over the Seireitei. Mezuki had Ruganki get off of her back.
"Lady Mezuki, May I go find Rukia?" she asked.
"Y-yes Ruganki. Be careful." She watched as Ruganki ran to the stairs. She focused back on the Byakuya fight. But Mezuki noticed where the Ryoka was standing. He set off an attack that was heading straight for the small girl. "RUGANKI!" She screamed. She ran and shielded her from the attack.
"Lady Mezuki?" Ruganki asked as the smoke cleared. Mezuki had her zanpaku-to drawn protecting her and Ruganki. But Mezuki had blood on her face from her injured left arm. And her sleeve form her right side was blasted off. "You're hurt!"
"Ru-Ruganki, stay back and don't move. I can't let Byakuya fight like this." She tried to stand but when she did, she felt a sharp pain. And saw Renji and Rukia return. Ruganki ran to them. "Ruganki, what did I-" Mezuki was cut off but a sudden pain in her leg. She looked down and saw a blade pierced through her. She tried to turn and look but she already knew. "Gin, what the hell is your problem!?" She yelled still standing.
"Oh, Mezuki, quite acting tough. You have no one to protect." Gin said.
"Mezuki!" Ruganki tried to move but Renji picked her up and held.
"You're wrong Gin. I do have someone to protect and I will keep that person safe." She pointed her zanpaku-to at him. "Between the heavens and Earth, please help me and give me your strength, Yukicor Tsuki!" Her sword changed forms. Her sword spilt in three.
"So this is your Shikia?"  A familiar voice asked.
Mezuki turned her head. "Aizen, I thought you were dead. Man I wanted to celebrate tonight but you just ruined my night." She said sarcastically.
"Don't push it Mezuki." Aizen said.
"Fine I won't." Mezuki flash stepped behind Aizen and attacked. But Aizen dodged it. He appeared behind her and attacked her. She went flying between Byakuya and the Ryoka. "Dammit! I let my guard down but he got me in my blind spot." Mezuki watched as Aizen walked to Rukia. "Leave her alone Aizen." Mezuki stood up. Her left arm was covered in blood.
"Try and stop me, Mezuki Urahara." He made a devilish smile.
The Ryoka eye's got big. "Urahara? But that's the last name of Mr. Hat and clogs." He said.
Mezuki took one step forward and all of a sudden her sword fell to the ground. She felt blood run down her right arm. She looked and saw Gin's sword pierced her shoulder again. Mezuki fell to her knees with tears on her eyes. "I never forgot that day Aizen. I will always blame for you taking my dad out of my life." She said holding her shoulder. Her vision got blurry and everything went black. She felt her body hit the ground.
"Mezuki!" Ruganki screamed. But Renji wouldn't let her go.
Gin saw a piece of paper lying next to Mezuki. "Aizen, check this out." He picked up and read it. "That little brat right there is Rukia's sister." He pointed at Ruganki.
"How interesting." Aizen said. He walked to Rukia still.
Mezuki was lying on the ground covered in blood. Ruganki looked at her, crying tears of pain. Renji never let her go but from the looks of it, she was still alive. She was breathing hard.
"Don't move another step Gin." said a female voice. It was Rangiku.
He stood in place and watched Aizen take a small little sphere from Rukia's body.
"The insanity." Rangiku heard Mezuki mumble. Mezuki started to get up.
"Your still alive?" Aizen said.
"You know I never give up." She said through her teeth. She left blood run down her right arm. "My dad made the lad that's in Squad 12 barracks. Thanks to you, I can't stand the Captains of Squad 2 & 12." She said. Her breathing started to fade. Blood trickled from her mouth. She watched as Aizen threw Rukia. "You monster." She said in pain. "You cause the Soul Society to go to hell! You will pay AIZEN!" She yelled. She started to cry. Byakuya hasn't seen her cry for a long time.
Mezuki looked at Byakuya, who was covered him blood and injured. But he diapered, she looked for him and saw that he caught Rukia, his pride. But she felt a breeze zoom past her. It was sliver and finally she knew it was Gin's sword. She slightly turned her head and looked at the weirdo. She had no time for words. Then she heard the sound of skin being pierced. She looked and saw that Byakuya was stabbed. She started to cry again. 'It's for Rukia's sake.' She thought to herself. She started to walk but the pain of her injured leg hurt too bad for her to even move. She knelt down and held her leg. 'Everything was happening so quickly. How one man made the Soul Society go to hell so quickly.'  She thought as Aizen and the two other Captains disappears. She looked at the battlefield. "Aizen." She said under her breathe. Ruganki ran to her and hugged her.
"Mezuki, are you okay?" She asked.
"No, I'm injured and so is Byakuya." She looked over at his limp body. She started to get up but felt someone's hand on her shoulder.
"Mezuki, stay down, Unohana will treat you." A female voice said.
Mezuki looked up and saw Yoruichi. She began to cry. "Yoruichi!" She hugged her.
