Description this one took me a while, about 8hours in photoshop.

the background is a copy of my vector of it. i printed it out and 'grunged' it up with starch, pencil shavings, paint, and some sandpaper. im really happy with the result. hope you enjoy it.

hah i fail at life. i cant even upload the right file. i downsized it because i dont want you to have to wait for forever and a day for it to load. sorry about that.

i like the idea...i would suggest that you reposition the figure so that the edge of the photograph isn't peeking out. also, did you vector the inside of the subway car? i can't tell whether it's a really detailed vector or a weird photo i'm not a big fan of pixelated stuff, but if it's how you wanted it, then that's cool that you experimented and liked what happened. have you ever tried overlaying textures or making/downloading grungy brushesand applying them? sometimes it comes out pretty cool too. all in all, i think that you did a damn fine job.

yea i tried messing with the positioning, but it would just peek out on another side instead. i think i vectored it while it was off center. o well. and no i didnt vector the inside of it. just the outside. and overylay is my number one friend thats how i did this piece. i used the scanned image and overlayed it on top of the other image. i really like using my own textures for this kind of thing. its more fun to me. but i do have a massive selection of other textures that i occasionally mess around with.

thank you so much for your input

well thank you

basically i just did a detailed vector of the person, and a base vector of the subway. then printed out the subway and just messed with it with different things. like i used a screw driver to scratch it up, i sprayed it with starch, i smeared paint on it, then stuck pencil shavings to it. even a little of my own spit was involved

then i just scanned it back in. and since my scanner sucks royally, i got horrible pixelation all over the image. but i LOVE accidents in my work. they make things so much more unique, so i just left it like it is. and it really added to the 'grungy' look i was going for. anything else you want to know, just note me.
