Description
This is the unmasked version of Phantom Infinite. I know what Infinite actually looks like underneath the mask but I like the inverse of the white and grey on his head. Plus I'm still not pleased with how Infinite was handled that this is my own interpretation of Infinite.

The whole "I'M NOT WEAK" thing is an interesting idea but the execution was very... forced (didn't mean to do that pun, sorry) so I'm changing his backstory.

Infinite (before actually adopting that persona) was an average jackal who was relatively normal, he was a gifted fighter and was best friends with the sonic forces' oc (a bit more relevance to the oc) however, when Eggman launched an assault on Infinite's city, he was caught in the battle between Sonic and Eggman where the devastation of said battle left Infinite under a pile of rubble, near death. After Sonic defeated Eggman and gathered with his friends in the ruins of the city, one of Infinite's last sights was that of Sonic and his friends, through a gap in the rubble he attempted to reach out to them and using all of his energy pleaded for help only to fall on deaf ears as Sonic and co dispersed. Infinite's life soon began to leave him until the Phantom Ruby appeared at this point in time where it desired Infinite as it's host. Merging with the jackal, Infinite was brought back from the brink of death and his anger, hatred and abandonment was amplified by the Ruby's influence which caused the jackal to develop a new persona, one comprised of malice and revenge: Infinite.

Infinite allied himself with Eggman, knowing the Doctor could enhance the Ruby's abilities and strength. In this alliance, Infinite sought to get his revenge through Eggman, by using the combination of recourses and numbers at Eggman's disposal, Infinite could defeat Sonic and murder everyone he blamed for his abandonment and subsequent death. Once he had achieved his revenge against Sonic's friends he would then turn on Eggman after all he didn't forget that Eggman was also responsible for Infinite's death, he would only use Eggman to take down Sonic and then killing Eggman would be easy beyond that. Infinite defeats Sonic and gives him to Eggman so he can suffer before Infinite executes him, beyond this Infinite begins to target Sonic's friends and start murdering some of them. Cream, Big, Espio, Omega, Rouge and Shadow are killed by Infinite while the others only barely escape and are able to form a rebellion against Eggman.

*Sonic Forces plays out as usual, only the OC's relationship with Infinite's previous personality is expanded upon and developed*

Once Infinite is defeated by Sonic and the OC, (due to Infinite's inability to kill his friend) he disappears with the Ruby back into the Eggman Empire Fortress, where Eggman would place the Ruby inside his perfected Death Egg Robot.

*Final battle cough cough, copy paste nega wisp armor boss cough cough occurs*

Upon the Death Egg Robot's destruction, the Phantom Ruby reforms with it's host as it ascends to it's highest form of power, that of near-omnipotence. With this, Infinite transforms into the all powerful Phantom Infinite and due to the Ruby's true power, he begins to destroy Sonic's reality causing a massive rift revealing a realm of code and darkness (as shown in one of the concept art of Sonic Forces), Phantom Infinite has broken the game to the point where the true final battle takes place in the very basic code of the game itself against a trio of Super transformed beings i.e. Modern Sonic, Classic Sonic and the OC.

At the end of the final battle, Infinite's previous personality begins to regain control and fight the Ruby's influence, where he attempts to restore most of what was lost in the reality erasure. In this process, Infinite destroys and rips himself apart along with the Phantom Ruby among the code of the game during it's restoration after making amends with the OC. Both Infinite and Phantom Ruby are erased, in turn the OC loses the memory of his / her friend, Eggman was unable to take over the world, classic Sonic was never sent through time (not another dimension) and everything ever affected by the Phantom Ruby is mostly restored.

Maybe to keep some of the stakes, some events that was affected by the Phantom Ruby could still remain as a portion of it's influence remain, such as one or two of Sonic's friends remain dead, some cities / countries are wiped from existence, just so everything isn't that much of a cop out.

(Side Note: I just thought of an origin for the Phantom Ruby, and why it was found on Angel Island. The Phantom Ruby could be a counter to the Chaos Emeralds / Master Emerald, their constant use in changing time and space caused a negative reaction, condensed into a singular gemstone which manipulates reality, or more accurately, breaks reality as a negative reaction to the Emerald's power)
