Hey all,it's been a while since I made a character snd Ive never really made anything that exists or has existed so I figured I'd make a templar.
I made some design changes for creative style and look but tried to keep sorta similar.
anyway the details are on the image.
Prgrams used: 3DSmax, zBrush, Xnormal and Photoshop
comments and crits are welcome.
EDIT - added some tone to the gut area and made the lips darker. Also re-did the diffuse normals and specular maps since they were just awful.

thanks I just wish I could do a good job of modelling characters xD oh well i'm alright at everything else so I guess thats a plus in some way

I can't remember the last tie I tried to model anything. It's annoying because Soft Image is brilliant for UV mapping and Maya just sits there with its finger up its nose saying "What's a texture?" Got any recommendations for mesh making programs for me?

3D Studio max that is the way forward and the great thing is ots the most commonly used modelling package amongest 3D artists so theres loads of tutorials.
trust me its awesome I make all my stuff in that now and have done since the start of uni

its a she, it says so in the description then again Ive thought some game characters were guys that were actually girls, well untill they bought in voice acting

lol I wouldn't say so, most game characters are now more around the 10,000 to 15,000 polygon mark. This is more of an NPC in a game

thanks, I use photographs for the textures to help make them fel more realistic. Although characters arent my strong point I feel like I really did well with this though...

this is good, but as she is a worrier she needs to be more toned, mainly in the belly, she looks fat, so give her a bit of a six pack, also she looks like she has no breasts. her hand looks a bit stiff, you need to make it look more relaxed, the face looks a bit off, you need to bring out her facile features out, but in all the texturing looks good

thanks, I can explain the lack of boobs in one word: Stereotype, I wanted to break away from the mould of all female game character "have to" have big breasts and instead I purposley made her look flat chested to beak out of the mold. as for the muscles, I'll get right on it
