Yeah, they used the modern graphics to make it look better, and made it 3D. From what I've heard they didn't change the story line, but added an option to replay boss battles after you beat them the first time.

Graphics are mostly just smoother versions of the old and there is one or two new items? Maybe it's just that they changed one or two of the old ones. There is also Master Quest included after you beat the game once.
