Description Arttrade for

Requested were Angélique and Bachtiary.

I want my dream *w* I wanted that was HIM who buy her in the slave market ! Persian AngéliquexBachtiary !

I picked the scene where she arrives at night to the estate where Geoffrey (aka. Le Rescator) met her, after he bought her - of course it is Bachtiary Bey and not him. *w*

This would then be AU spin off from the 4th movie Indomptable Angélique (Unconquerable Angélique).

While the movies and fated Michèle Mercier in the role of Angélique Sancé de Monteloup is widely known in my country I was surprised to discover that on the internet at least its not so. Even French people are not familiar with them

Its always like a candy in a foil found on the street, when I meet someone who knows and likes the movies. Some rare jewls have even read the books ...

what I learned during making: hmmm, I start getting into large dresses...

Fandom: Angélique - Angélique and Bachtiary Bey

Media: watercolors, structured watercolor paper, stencil pencil, white gel pen, format A5

I've, and I blush to admit it, read the first two - because of my mother, who read them at her (religious!) teacher's at a too young age to realise what she was reading and then found them in a second hand book-store and told me I couldn't be the only one it the family with a good taste in books And I'm

So I read them, and have to say I found them absolutely dreadful. That said, they are very upfront dreadful, and I quite enjoyed the trip down cliché Mary Sue lane...

And your illustration therefore does it more than justice. I love the folds on his sleeves and how you managed to portray the difference in dress between them.

Oh, its so sad, when I see the faces of my friends which discover I read the books and enjoyed them Personally me, I enjoyed the first books - since 6th its just rubbish... guh, so bad.

The books which served as the base for the movies were quite realistic and true to the epoch in which the story happened. And the movie in the contrary idolized and sugared the story - in the movie, at least to me, Angelique appeared far more Mary Sueish as in the books.

Thank you, I really appreciate the compliment - the dress he is wearing is directly from the 3rd movie - only her dress is made up.

Well, to be honest I can't say I don't learn stuff! Most of my general knowledge about history is thanks to (more or less crappy!) historical fiction. It's the characters that bugs me, but well, I guess it's actually a lot better than, say, Chaterin Cookson.

Haven't seen the movies, though. Never thought about doing an illustrated version?
