Personality
Desiree is intelligent, nervous and very emotional at time, especially when she deals with the victims on her morgue slab. She is very compassionate toward victims of all kinds, particularly children. She’s also a bit of a tomboy, normally wearing her blue jeans, sneakers, tank top, glasses, lab coat and a ponytail, slightly messy. She also tries to suppress her Creole accent, thinking she sounds country. She does wear too much makeup except for lip-gloss, but she doesn’t really need it anyway.

As Brigitte, she is charming, confident, funny, energetic and even a bit scary at times. She is not scare to get down and dirty when it comes to a fight, but hardly loses her graceful demeanor. Her hair is wildly free, she wears a revealing form fitting dark purple and white body suit, beads and chains hang from the waist, normally barefoot and wears her great-grandmother’s necklace on her neck. Her eyes are eerily like a snake and even her teeth resemble fangs. Her Creole accent is very evident and adds to her sex appeal. When dealing with the joker, she takes a darker attitude, ready to kill him at a moments notice.

History
Head of Gotham PD’s CSI division and a brilliant criminal profiler who has researched the mental traits of killers and various other criminals. Desiree grew up in Lafayette Parish, LA and around the mysterious world of Voodoo mostly due to her great-grand mother, Marie . She is a direct descendent of Marie Laveau, the Legendary Voodoo Queen of New Orleans of the 18th century. Thou raised in the religion, she never really believed it, until she got a visit from her great-grand mother, although she had been dead for 6 years. Marie reveals that the Laveau women obtain the power of their ancestor at age 25 and over time with her great-grand mother‘s guidance, she hones her powers and decide to use them to fight crime and bring her own brand of justice to all those souls who ended up in her morgue. She takes the name of Madame Brigitte, a variation of Maman Brigit (Voodoo deity of Death, Queen of the Loa) but unlike her ancestors, her power is growing stronger with each year. Maybe there’s more to her history then she knows.

She first encounters Bruce Wayne at Wayne Enterprises as her normal counterpart. When she meets "Batman", there's an obvious attraction between them but they try to keep it under wraps while as Desiree and Bruce, they actually start a relationship, not knowing the others secret. She periodically works in Arkyam Asylum to learn the M.O’s of notorious killers and that’s how she meets The Joker. But great tension occurs when The Joker becomes fanatically obsessed with Madame Brigitte. Entranced by her ghostly pale skin, wild raven black hair, piercing alluring green eyes and her refusal accept chaos, The Joker develops a twisted infatuation with her, much to the dismay of his current love struck partner, Harley Quinn. Quinn hasn’t killed like Joker, but Jealousy has turned many into murderers and Harley’s resentment of Joker’s desire for another woman may make her cross that line.

Desiree has a personal vendetta against The Joker, due to the fact Marie’s death was The Joker’s doing. He bombed a subway station during one of his heist and her great grandmother was among the victims. She vows to make The Joker suffer as much as his victims did, but Batman manages to prevent her from doing it. The line between alter ego and real self start to blur when Batman’s feelings for Brigitte grow. Confusion surrounds both Batman and Brigitte as well as fear as The Joker begins to stalk her. Has he learned that Desiree has a connection to Brigitte? Desiree and Brigitte are two sides of one woman, a woman who has been surrounded by death and magic all her life. Yet she has made the choice to risk her life and even her sanity to bring justice to those people whose lives were unjustly ended. She will watch over the living of Gotham and comfort the lost souls of Gotham as well.
