Would you mind if I used this as a reference in my Attempts series of drawings? I would link back to the original image and your profile in the finished drawing (example ).

No bad dobermans just bad owners.
You did a wonderful thing.
God bless you.

Yeah. I can totally understand, "a monster".
I almost ended up with a Dobermann myself... a cute young liver&tan lady, "Ebbie" was fastened to the shelter's fence and was aggressive towards everyone who approached her. Thus everyone was scared of her. She was taken to ours by my former roommate who works in shelter, but nobody wanted to have to do anything with her and she ended up fastened to a bed (!). Of course, she was taken care of, but I think I was the only person not afraid to come near her, especially without her muzzle.
I got to go home for weekend, though, and I've never seen her again... I'm only aware that she's in temporary home now... I miss her.
The boy on the picture looks as elegant as a Dobbie should. He wasn't put down after all, though, was he?

I have no idea!!! That was what the former owners said. I think perhaps he was a bit too much dog for them to handle.

They are for experienced dog owners in my eyes. Dobermann puppies are a lot of work, not because they are "monsters" but because they are high energy dogs that teeth earlier than most breeds.
A lot of owners mistake the "rough play" as aggression, and seem to fail at puppy training. You just have to teach them what level of play is acceptable and make it clear from the start where they are in the pack and you will have no problems. They are SO affectionate and sweet, the complete opposite of their bad reputation.
It makes me angry when I hear about a Dobermann with issues, because I know how good they actually are, and how bad the owner must be.

They are much to handle..
But they are great if you actually bother to work with them tho..

I love seeing them cropped. It gives them that strict pinscherlook. It's so rare to see cropped dogs here in Sweden nowadays, so whenever I do I go "WOW!" ^^

I just like floppy ears LOL
Dobies with natural ears are very rare here in the states.
