I love Borzoi's! Or should I say, I love the idea of Borzoi's. ^_^; I don't have one and I never seen one in person but I'm still obsessed.

Well, here (UK) you'd pay anywhere between £5,000 ($7,500 ish?) - £200,000 ( $280,000 ish), though the £200,000 one was a 2 year old champion male, so he would have been a stud dog. But, thats a lot of money for a pup. Plus, there are few breeders here (like... seven? in the whole country?...) so theres not much choice... TT____TT
Sometimes, people just sell them as pets rather than for show, but those puppies are snapped up quick as lightning...

You should look into importing!
That way you could get a good Borzoi and maybe even contribute to the breed in the UK (if you buy a dog with the right lines). Here in Sweden (I think you can import from here without alot of work) a puppy costs from 15000 SEK, that would be ~1500 Euro. That's a reasonable price.

That IS a reasonable price! I was looking into importing anyway, but im not sure id like to put a puppy on a plane in its own for my own benefit. When we came back from NZ, we had to put our Dachshund on a plane, admittedly for a 29 hour flight >__>' But it messed him up for a while...
Well, its still going to be a few years before i have the time and the money for a big dog, so theres lots of things to consider.

Zodd came by plane as an 11 week old pup and he was a happy boy as soon as I opened up his cage. His little tail was up over his back as soon as his paws toutched the grass outside and he gave me a big kiss, so nothing negative for him. And 1,5 hours in a dogs life in the air compared to a life on the ground sounds pretty reasonable to me ^^
If I buy a dog again I will import.

Alfie is a total clingy dog, so thats partly why he spazzed out. I would consider importing from a close european country but i probably wouldnt bother with the states or anything like that. I'd feel so guilty if anything happened to it.
The guy who put our dog on the plane said to try and avoid doing it with puppies because they can die of fright.. @____@''' I would be so heartbroken if it did.
