An iPad shot from yesterday at Fairytale Garden. The highlight of this was getting to get messages from Merida for a pair of her deviant fans. First was Julia (pisces219320 ), a Taiwanese cosplayer whose work I saw during winter break:

I then showed her the comment section, including where I had told her when I had read her saying, "I know I'm an Asian, so what? I don't consider race so important. I love Merida and that's enough for me to cosplay her." I had told her, "Don't worry - I think if I saw the lady herself and showed her this, she'd be thrilled that she's got a protegeé in Taiwan." What I then revealed to Merida was that I hadn't told Julia that I was indeed planning to share the shot. Merida was indeed thrilled to see it and said, "That's great that says she'll keep it up! Like I said before, there will always be naysayers, but just go out to change our own fate and whatnot! That's lovely - I think my mum'll be impressed too with that dress there!"

I also told her that another fan - Christopher (hot293wildcat ) wanted to tell her that she reminded him of a female version of himself, which is one of the reasons he looks up to her. To both Julia and Chris, Merida had this to say: "'Keep shooting for your own hand' - that's what I always say." We then had this shot as the icing on the cake, where she mimed drawing a bow and asked if I wanted to do the same - at which point, I said that I had already come armed and pulled out my sword. I also like the way it turned out because it's like we're saying, "Don't worry - we've fought for our dreams and succeeded and we know you can do the same!"
