Description (Detailed): Short-furred, tall dark brown tabby tom with darker stripes and a white patch on his throat that stretches up to the left side of his chin. He has a lean build and thin legs, small paws which are pale brown, dark ears that match his ear tufts, and a long, dark tail with a single pale brown stripe around the tail tip. He has a pale brown forehead and stripes on his face with some along his pelt. Deep scars raking down his blind, dark amber eyes with torn ears

Personality: Thornsight is clever, confident, and steadfast, but he’s also incredibly resentful, quite blunt, and sneakily cunning. Due to his isolation and neglect as an apprentice, he’s become downright hateful of those who treated him horribly, and he isn’t afraid to voice it out loud for anyone. He’s confident in his abilities, especially after meeting Russetclaw and Jetfrost, knowing his limits but knowing exactly what he’s capable of, he’s also aware of pushing himself to improve. Thornsight can also be seen as untrusting of other cats, he’s seen often as being mysterious alongside his blindness as his Clanmates can’t understand how being blind feels like. He’s lost most of his sense of humor but he does indulge in it here and there with Russetclaw and Jetfrost, but he never shows this side to his Clanmates, instead, he shows them his blunt and somewhat sarcastic side. Out of Russetclaw and Jetfrost, Thornsight is the main strategist and he’s often the one behind all the complex plans the three act out.

Family: His father and mother are Mudleap and Swiftstorm, and he has an older brother and sister, Blazeheart and Amberfeather
Backstory: At first, he is treated with as much pride and joy as Blazekit and Amberkit when Thornsight was Thornkit before the attack. He is greatly loved by his parents and siblings alongside the entirety of ObsidianClan since more kits meant more fighters to learn their ancient skills. That and Mudleap and Swiftstorm were known in ObsidianClan as the Clan’s favorites, so everyone naturally loved the three kits alongside their parents.

However, one day, Thornkit wanders out and into the many tunnels branching off from ObsidianClan’s camp, curiosity encouraging him towards the dark depths of the cold tunnels and soon enough, he finds himself lost after getting a bit tired and too cold. He tried to make his way back but found himself even more lost in the darkness. Thornkit begins to cry out for his family but this only proves to be a horrible decision since it seemed to lure something else to him. Thinking it was his family in the darkness in front of him, he eagerly moves forward and mews louder, his eyes just barely adjusting for a few seconds in the dark before intense pain burns down his face from his eyes just as they go black once more.

Thornkit wails in agony and stumbles back, trying to blink away the warm liquid and pain seeping from his eyes to see if his vision would adjust again so he could see his attacker, but his sight never returned and even more fear overwhelmed him. Surrounded by complete and total darkness, Thornkit finally caught scent of what was in front of him and what attacked him. It smelled damp and like that of the earth but also a mix of the outside, there was also a slight sour scent to it. He didn’t know what it was but it was a large lizard who lashed out at him after finding him in the dark.

The lizard prowls forward as Thornkit backs up, trying to stay away from it despite the pain ripping through his eyes still. His back hits the wall of the tunnel and he’s cornered, the lizard then lunges forward and Thornkit has a feeling that he was going to die here, so he braces himself. However, one of his Clanmates shows up and saves him, killing the lizard before quickly bringing Thornkit back to camp, not knowing yet that the kit was now blind.

Thornkit is brought to the medicine cat’s den and is given treatment to try and heal his wounds so that his eyesight returns, but Thornkit knew it would never return despite wanting to believe like his parents and siblings. They worried for him the entire time, thinking that even if he was blind, they’d still love him the same, but he’s given a swift reality check a few days later when he’s finally and fully healed up.

He was now permanently blind. Thornkit sought out comfort from his family only to be met with rejection and hostility. Of course, this greatly confuses the newly blinded kit but he’s forced to deal with it for the rest of his life now since they only get worse.

Since he was blinded, ObsidianClan and even his own family reject to help him often, no longer seeing him as the kit with a bright future, but a useless kit that is now a burden to the Clan who holds their exceptional sight over everything else. It gets so bad to the point that Marigoldstar, ObsidianClan’s leader, Foxrunner, the Clan’s deputy, and even Lichencloud, the Clan’s medicine cat, deny Thornkit his apprenticeship for two moons straight. Blazepaw and Amberpaw have long since already been given mentors, their own parents for mentors, while Thornkit remains a kit. And even when he’s finally given his apprentice name after one of the queens, Cloudsong, complains more and more about not wanting Thornpaw to be in the nursery when her kits are born, believing he will rub his blindness on them, he isn’t assigned a mentor.

Thornpaw remains an apprentice for even longer than when he was a kit, spending a total of ten moons as an apprentice and that’s not including when he decides to make himself into a warrior. During his neglected apprenticeship, Thornpaw was rarely mentored at all, only sometimes by Shadowfang. He only had one friend in the Clan around his age, the other, much younger apprentice, Ferretpaw. And when Ferretpaw is forced to leave Thornpaw alone or taken out to go training with his own mentor, Darkfrost, Thornpaw only knows to seek any kind of comfort from the other queen who seemed to appreciate him more than his own mother, Stonestep and her lone kit, Ivorykit. These four cats are the only ones he can talk to or even be around without being rejected. They’re the only ones that he will spare in his Clan when he overthrows ObsidianClan and StarClan.

Now that he’s renamed himself as Thornsight and has appointed himself as a warrior after gaining confidence and finding himself amongst Russetclaw and Jetfrost, he’s now grown into a dangerous warrior. Not just in fighting and strategies, but also because the Clan see him as a threat to their own, thinking that he is corrupted by the Dark Forest or that he’s working with the other Clans. Thornsight has grown quite sarcastic and loves to mess with his Clanmates, basically, he’s being a prick to them but not at the same time because they deserved it after what they did to him.

Unique Skills: During his isolation, he learned to work around his blindness, all of his training going into honing in on his hearing and scent which are without a doubt, the best among all three Clans. He essentially sees with his excellent hearing, his hearing basically forming a picture in his head like echolocation. Thornsight walks around and does his own thing as if he had sight. But don’t underestimate him, he may be a strategist but he is still a formidable fighter. He may not be as bulky like Russetclaw nor as swift like Jetfrost, but he makes it up with exploiting an enemy’s blindspots and examining the enemy’s moves before striking weak spots, practically toying with them.

Essentially, he can’t see you but he can hear you, and if he can’t hear you, he can smell you, and if he can’t even smell you either, he can for sure as hell sense you. He is the three Clans’ greatest threat. And they themselves were the one who made him who and how he is now. Sure, the lizard attack was unavoidable but if they hadn’t treated him horribly, then he would’ve honed in his skills to aid the Clans, but now, he is against the Clans and isn’t afraid to show where he stands.

Relationships
Mudleap + Swiftstorm
Before the attack, Thornkit looked up to his parents with admiration and wanted to be like them so that he can help support the Clan just as they did. But after being blinded, his views on his parents and his Clan as a whole changed drastically. Thornsight feels intense resentment and hatred towards his parents, he doesn’t see them as his parents anymore than they see him as their son. He sees them less than the rogues and kittypets on the outskirts of the Clan territories, not bothering to interact with them even if he has to or is told to. He’d rather do everything himself. If he were to save his siblings or his parents in a dire situation, he’d for one, choose himself, but if he really pushed himself to at least save one of the pair, he’d choose his siblings. To Thornsight, his parents are dead to him, they mean absolutely nothing to him.

Blazeheart + Amberfeather
As a kit, Thornkit also looked up to his older siblings as he did his parents. He loved them dearly and truly dreamed of becoming apprentices and competing with his siblings for who was going to be the best warrior among them. Those dreams were shattered the day he was blinded forever and his mistreatment started. At the time, Thornkit didn’t understand why Blazekit and Amberkit were so mean and why they didn’t want to play or cuddle anymore, and they only bullied and pushed him further back. He was just as resentful of them as his parents but only recently did he decide that they’re not worth wanting to kill as much as his parents who started this whole thing. Thornsight may still have a slight soft spot for his older brother and sister but only because he believes that they were simply manipulated as kits and thus, eventually saw bullying him as a norm. Of course, he doesn’t forgive them entirely, still avoiding them but he doesn’t feel the need to want to get revenge on them despite them also aiding to his isolation. He isn’t sure where his siblings stand when he will overthrow the Clans, unsure of giving them a second chance, chasing them off, or letting them be killed.

Shadowfang
Thornsight sees Shadowfang as a friend. Though he’s still unwilling to completely open up to the older warrior, he respects him a bit even if Shadowfang wishes the younger tom would open up to him more. Shadowfang hopes to be Thornsight’s guide through the harsh path he’s chosen, knowing that he was betraying his Clan and StarClan and could possibly face brutal consequences, he knows how screwed up the Clans have become, saying they aren’t the Clans he used to know. Even his own former mate, Cloudsong, was against Thornsight. He decided that it was best to cut ties with her, though he’s still a loving, doting father to his kits, just doesn’t care all that much for Cloudsong anymore. His kits are Whisperkit, Songkit, and Shadekit.

Ferretpaw/Ferretclaw
Thornsight’s only friend around his age. Though initially hostile and untrusting of Ferretpaw, the then Thornpaw saw how Ferretpaw was the only one who really wanted to be around him. He wasn’t very open to that idea but that didn’t stop Ferretpaw from finding him and bringing two pieces of prey to the other tom. Thornsight isn’t sure what Ferretpaw gains from their friendship or even why he’s so nice to him, but he refuses to tell him that he doesn’t like his gestures because he truly does enjoy his company. In a way, Ferretpaw was the one who helped him most though some of his darkest moments, and Thornsight is grateful for him. He hasn’t told him yet about how thankful he is to the other tom but he also hasn’t told him what his feelings are. Thornsight can’t understand much of the fluttering feeling in his chest every time he hears or smells Ferretpaw approaching, and he’s not willing to tell the other that just yet. Another thing he really loves is when they cuddle close together when everyone heads to bed. Due to Thornsight still being considered an apprentice, he takes advantage of that and the two cuddle all night in the same nest.

Stonestep
Another cat for him to confide with but unlike Shadowfang or Ferretpaw, she is there and takes care of him almost like his own mother should. Thornsight isn’t sure if that’s because she still has her kit with her or not, but he’s thankful nonetheless even if he won’t outright admit that. Out of all the others who he trusts, Stonestep is probably one of the least he trusts only because he still holds it against her that she didn’t say anything to the Clan when Cloudsong lied about him to get him kicked out of the nursery and into the apprentices’ den where they all, except Ferretpaw, bully him constantly. Stonestep always apologizes whenever that’s brought up, and Thornsight knows that it isn’t easy to say something to the entirety of your Clan when you’re the only one who thinks a different way. He doesn’t hate her for this, rather he holds it against her to try and encourage her to try and fix herself so that if that happens to her or her own kit, she will be strong enough to defend themselves. He’s glad that his method seems to start working since Stonestep clawed at her mate, Batwing, and forbid him from coming to the nursery after he tried to throw Thornsight out when he was talking to her. Since then, she’s no longer his mate and refuses to allow Ivorykit anywhere near him without her watching and close by. Still, Thornsight does sometimes come to her and talk to her when Cloudsong isn’t there, as the stuck up queen usually dumps her kits on Stonestep, and he’s still grateful of her for allowing him.

Ivorykit
Ivorykit is Stonestep’s and Batwing’s only kit. Despite the age difference, Thornsight can’t help but see Ivorykit as his own sister more than Amberfeather. Whenever Thornsight comes to talk with Stonestep about his stress and issues, it’s mostly Ivorykit that cheers him up as she eagerly and without hesitation waddles up to him and plays with him. Initially, Thornsight had tried pushing Ivorykit away but she would always come back and play with him even more, sometimes sneaking behind him and pouncing on his tail. But now, he can’t resist playing with her. He knows that there’s a chance that Ivorykit will end up resenting him like the rest of the Clan in the future, and that hurts him to think about but he also knows that if he can keep showing her that he isn’t bad then maybe she’ll still want to come up to him when they get older. He loves Ivorykit as his own sister, and sometimes Blazeheart and Amberfeather watch them and they can’t help but feel horrible for what they’ve done to their little brother when it was in no way something he could’ve controlled.

Russetclaw
The cat who started this whole rebellion idea. Of course, just because Russetclaw started it doesn’t mean that she’s the big boss even if she can’t help but joke about it sometimes. She refuses to be like her father/parents so she’s willing to give up command to Thornsight since she’s mostly the brawn there. Thornsight sees her as being very powerful but also respectful. She isn’t full of herself, unlike Jetfrost, but she’s very proud of her strength and isn’t afraid to use it even against her own Clanmates. Thornsight respects her and though he’s taking the main wheel now, he still views her as the original boss and thus, he will always discuss with her what he plans on doing, Jetfrost being the same though he’s mostly out for blood of his Clanmates. Regardless, Thornsight and Russetclaw have mutual respect for one another. He may not know exactly how she feels as her situation is the complete opposite of his, but he knows that it isn’t easy for one cat to have the whole Clan on their shoulders just because someone said so. And so, he and Jetfrost will often let Russetclaw lean her head on their shoulders because while the two toms have been rejected by their Clans entirely, Russetclaw is told to fit into the Clan and that she has to live up to her father’s name and legacy.

Jetfrost
Thornsight took a while to get along with Jetfrost, mostly because the tom just wants to shed blood of his Clanmates and is very aggressive and impatient. He is quite full of himself but unlike if it were on Russetclaw, this trait benefits him because it only motivates him to get better at fighting and to get better than his Clanmates. Russetclaw already knows her strengths and is more focused on this whole rebellion, and though Jetfrost is a part of it, he knows that both her and Thornsight have much better understanding of how to take down the Clans and StarClan, so rather than be there to irritate them by not really knowing what they’re talking about, he’s working on himself to improve his skills. Once he sets his mind to improving a part of himself, he’s going to get there no matter what, doesn’t matter if his Clan scolds him or kicks him out for the day, he’s capable of fending for himself. That’s what Thornsight respects of him. Despite his hot-temper, he does have some down moments and that’s when Thornsight got to know more of him, of his grief that his mother has to suffer living outside of the Clan she once loved just because she had him. Thornsight realized that that aggression and fearlessness was only the hard outer shell of Jetfrost, and that inside, he really just wanted what was best for his mother whom was exiled due to what happened when he was born. He thinks that if he wasn’t born, then his mother would still be living in JadeClan, happy even if she had kits with a loner, if it wasn’t for him being the sole survivor of his litter, then maybe she would be there in JadeClan. After that, Thornsight treats him with respect and slowly but surely, Jetfrost does lower his guard whenever he’s around him or Russetclaw, knowing that they won’t judge him nor do they blame him for the exile of his mother. When it’s just them three, Jetfrost becomes someone completely different, he’s chill, curious, and even has some humor with them. That was all the more reason for Thornsight to further respect and accept him.
