Soo this is a dragon I drew to increase my portfolio for animazement. Colored pencil.. 10ish hours. I quite like this little guy.*edited to get rid of phantom hair XD*

I love the fact that thsi is traditional and I adore the color shceme . It's a unique design and a very pretty one at that. It looks very muscular and gracious. It looks very good other than a few anatomical errors here and there. Such as the hind foot (closest to us) bends awkwardly at the knee and before the foot.
Also, the wings look a bit flimsy. If you add a bit more muscle at the base that extends more onto the back and make the bend (somewhere on the main joint (I don't know what to call it) ) less "rounded." That would make the wings seem a bit more tense and strong.
Overall, this dragon is georgeous and well put together. I admire how much time you took on this piece and your efforts have paid off. I love how the wings are a bit transparent. You colored those wonderfully. (I might have another character to draw....hehe...)

OKay I'll definitely think about the wings a little more next time. Then again if one looks at a bats wing they are incredibly slender. So I might just be personal preference in this case. Dragons are tricky cuz they don't exist XD.

When I read in the description that it was colored pencils, I was shocked. You put amazing detail into it!! All the areas are shaded correctly as well as you have used unique color schemes where you have used it to createa realistic look. This creature has an original and unique design. You have also used light direction correctly and put amazing effort into everything!! As far as the colors go, you put lots of unique and colorful colors to attract your viewers and blended it at just a right a,amount!!! The creature itself looks fierce and the drawing looks amazing!!!! Good job and keep it up!!

that looks awesome! what kind of paper did you use? I have such a hard time getting my colored pencils so smooth >< But that looks so good! love the muscular structure subtly peaking through the skin

Just regular printer paper. The smoothness is from layering.. a hell of a lot of layering. I usually use like 5-7 colors for each color on here and then use a pale color(white/pale yellow etc) to get rid of weird crayoness in the lighter parts.
