i have seen many of your pieces of work and this is the closest you have got to reality allot of of your pieces are really well made , hey what software do you use and how do you render these , , eg with mental ray ? would like to know my machine cant render that much , would like to know the spec of your pc aswell , thank you

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

SaphireNishi In reply to darshan2good [2012-08-31 22:33:27 +0000 UTC]

lol.. well you can do renders on a prehistoric pc.. that no problem.. only thing is it takes forever for the pc to calculate the render.. so its better to have a monster machine.. the faster the machine the faster the render will go.. it kinda depends on what kind of render engine you are using too.. im using vray for my renders...

Love this!! Everyone always seems to have trouble with shoulders, backs of the knees, ankles and soles of the feet, but you've managed to nail all 4 perfectly. I adore the face model and her expression is perfect. Wow!

One thing to consider might be the hair--I love the way you've done the haircut, but overall, I feel like the strands don't stand out well. Maybe a little variation in color within each "chunk" of hair, as well as something to increase the "shininess" of each strand would help.

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

SaphireNishi In reply to feex3 [2012-07-30 00:57:28 +0000 UTC]

hehe.. hurray for zbrush...

hair is actually the hardest part to get right.. there isnt any good solution for hair yet in the 3d world.. even the professionals dont get it right.. i like your idea tho, but that would mean a lot of calculation power if you want to shininess on every single string.. thats pretty much impossible to do, except if you have a really really really fast computer...

feex3 In reply to SaphireNishi [2012-07-30 01:41:50 +0000 UTC]

True that!
Have you seen the latest Pixar movie, Brave? If not, run a google image search for "brave merida". Apparently her hair is made up of 1500 individually sculpted strands of hair that were then used to create 111,700 hairs in total. I wonder how long THAT took to render!!

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

SaphireNishi In reply to feex3 [2012-07-30 01:54:51 +0000 UTC]

yeah i saw the trailer.. very impressive.. but its the same technique they used in Tangled.. its exactly the same engine for the hair.. no idea what render times are for the hair.. but they must have really really high performance computers to get it all done.. results on the hair are really impressive for sure...

If I remember correctly your interview: if you are too near from your purpose, you'll find another one, harder...

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

SaphireNishi In reply to Phyl-CGI [2012-06-30 19:52:04 +0000 UTC]

hehe.. you mean doing animations ? if you mean that then there is still a lot to learn, and these thing are really hard to do.. first is creating a bone structure for your rig, then its the skinning part which is really tedious to learn as well.. then come springs for bouncing stuff.. then more advanced skinning with a muscle system.. so when you bend an arm you see the muscle change like it does in real life too.. then i gotta learn how to do animated displacement maps so you can simulate veins that pop up when you move certain places on the body like for example hands and feet.. and this are only things i know i still need.. i probably forgot a couple of things too.. so if you meant doing animation, then no... its still really a long road to go, till i get there...

Eh, well, admittedly I think I got a bit bored of the long haired character you usually use At least I assume it's the same model:

Just seeing a short-haired model (it might be the same 3D body model, I don't know) had quite the impact, and I really liked the whole composition, so... yeah

SaphireNishi In reply to Monele [2012-06-22 14:59:34 +0000 UTC]
