Man Idon't know how I feel about this whole digital painting thing
I need to experiment more that's what I need to do yes perfect
Because everything looks over-rendered and I feel negatively about that.
Anyway I guess I'm happy with this so yeah
I FORGOT HOW MUCH I LOVE THIS DAMNED SHOW. I've been watching Brotherhood and it's a big old blast from the past. FMA was my first fandom when I was 11 and it's just been... surreal seeing everything again now that I'm older.

I've seen a lot of different "styles" of fanart for Fullmetal, and I have to say I've never seen another image that so perfectly captures the sense of Ed's sheer suppressed rage that this does. It's raw and almost painful, but so very honest. Ed's an incredible character, but so very, very messed up. Usually people choose to make him "pretty", or "badass" which ignores his stubborn ability to (dare I say it) soldier on despite all the odds against him, even if he hates what he has to do with every fiber of his being. You have managed to convey both the turmoil under the surface and the chains of self-control he has placed on himself in order to succeed. I'm almost afraid to know who he's facing here, that he seems to be physically restraining his own instinct to attack. Kimbley? Bradley? Hoenheim?

I think the messiness is totally alright, it makes it look non-plastic (and I wouldn't say it's over-rendered at all), something about his left, our right, eye does bug me though. You could also make the brightest highlights on the automail even tinier to make them .. pop more, if you know what I mean.
Also: The contrast on the nose is DELICIOUS.

HAHA YEAH SAME Netflix cut my ass off after season 3 so I'm about there too. I'm going to have no free time once school starts on the 20th again, too. I have two days of solid classes J.F.C., and I can't imagine how your schedule must look with GAD
And waah thanks I'm always afraid that it's too messy looking though because I'm not sure how close people look which probably isn't too close, but I don't want to blend too much because PAINTERLY looks GOOD.

Funimation's channel on youtube has all the episodes, that's how i've been watching them sdfgh and I actually switched majors to illustration because I feel it better fits my skill and my schedule is pretty manageable this semester sdfghg
and I guess that depends on the person, but personally I really enjoy pieces that are slightly messy and you can see how the brush stroke went through the piece and just IT'S SO PLEASING TO ME
