→ Arata is pretty outgoing and friendly to everyone she meets although due to being from a small town, she tends to be a little too trusting which ends up with a merchant trying to scam her, beggar trying to steal her money or even a pervert trying to bed her. However, she's very strong and doesn't hesitate to jump into a fight if she feels justice needs to be served.
→ She worries for her family back home so she tends to keep her background hidden just in case there were any assassins or kidnappers who would put them in danger, especially as she was taught about "bad people in the city" by her father.
→ Her personality changes when she is tending to flowers as she is more gentle to them, because she can see the beauty in their lives and because of this, she has a particular interest in beautiful people because they remind her of flowers.

History:
→ Arata grew up living in poverty along with 4 other siblings with her being the second oldest. Her mother died when she gave birth to Arata's youngest sibling so her father has been working in order to provide food for his family. With so many mouths to feed, it was hard for her father to find a stable job and could only bring enough to feed everyone. Because of this, Arata often got bullied by the town kids for being poor and wearing rags and tattered clothing.
→ She didn't mind though. She was quite content and happy with her life and being poor didn't bother her at all. She would enjoy making flower crowns in the meadows with her siblings and bring them home to decorate their old and rundown shack. In order to help her father, she began selling these flowers in the town, earning small profits which she would give to her father. Because she was a small child, she would often get harassed by older men and in turn, she built up stamina and strength due to running away from thieves or fighting back against molestors and other sorts.
→ As she and her siblings grew up, each of her sisters began doing chores around the house such as the cooking, laundry and cleaning. Her eldest and only brother became a travelling mecenary and left home, coming back every year with money to help support her dad who was now retired and elderly.
→ Against her father's wishes, she decided to move to Koibito to look for a job and send money back to her family every month to help them out. The first thing she did when she arrived was splurge on a singular expensive kimono and hairclip so that people wouldn't judge her for her appearance. She decided to use her love of flowers to her advantage and applied to work at the Flower Shop and hopefully start a new life for herself.
→ The first friend she made in the city was a small calico kitten she found wondering the streets hungrily, she gave it fish and walked away but before she knew it, the cat continued to follow her wherever she went so she decided to keep it.

Description of relationship: ｢Friends/Mutual Like」
→ Arata met Shinpachi when she was out on a delivery. She noticed some men harassing two girls so she decided to step in and stop them. At the time, Shinpachi had just quit the Shinsengumi in order to live a peaceful life, so he was also new at his job and he noticed a commotion outside the shop and witnessed the whole thing, stepping in and defeating them as Arata was about to attack. She was going to be angry but didn't when she realised how strong and skilled Shinpachi was, despite his small stature. After that, she would visit the shop on her breaks and he would visit the flower shop from time to time to talk to her.
→ They both like each other, but Shinpachi is hesitant on confessing to Arata due to the idea that he feels she can do better than him because he's not rich, he's small and feels there's nothing good about him. Arata on the other hand, adores him because she finds him funny and a genuinely sweet person and she doesn't mind his his height or anything.
( but still finds it cute that he's small like a teddy bear u////w////u )
They both know that they like each other but neither on them act upon it and just hang out like friends, although they do tend to have labu labu moments from time to time. *swoon*

→ She likes to sing and dance when she's by herself as she feels she's not good enough to do it in front of others.
