Can you bake it with wood on it?

Yes, but you should keep an eye on it.

Ah, I was going to make a harry potter-like wand when a wood chop-stick base, so I was wondering if it would catch fire...

Chopsticks are fine! Β If you're nervous you can soak them in water first.

Super Sculpey? Isn't it like Play Doh? No, seriously, what is the official name of this thing you use for sculptures?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 2

sapphire44456 In reply to northrone [2013-09-01 17:19:38 +0000 UTC]

Super Sculpey is a type of polymer clay. Β You bake it in the oven and it stays soft until then.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

sapphire44456 In reply to TheTalkingTomato [2013-08-29 11:45:53 +0000 UTC]

The chaepo craft acrylics that come in the 2oz bottles.

sapphire44456 In reply to TheTalkingTomato [2013-08-29 11:45:27 +0000 UTC]

I use super sculpey! Any kind of polymer clay is about the same.

She looks absolutely amazing I'm super exited to see her painted.

How much clay have you used so far? I'm planning to start working with Super Sculpey as well, but I'm not quite sure about the amount of clay you and your colleagues use.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

sapphire44456 In reply to Bardiel83 [2013-08-28 12:01:58 +0000 UTC]

I've probably used about half of the box? A little less than that probably. Β Thank you!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Bardiel83 In reply to sapphire44456 [2013-08-28 13:21:41 +0000 UTC]

So that would mean, you can calculate about 2/3 to 3/4 of a bar for the whole sculpture? And how big is she, if I might ask?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

sapphire44456 In reply to Bardiel83 [2013-08-29 01:49:21 +0000 UTC]

Without the base to the top of her hair, she's about 4 inches tall. Β For the whole sculpt I'll probably use 1/2 or more of the box. Β It depends on which pony.

I'm training with that clay actually..that's not very easy x-xΒ

the base of this pony already baked?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

sapphire44456 In reply to allocen [2013-08-27 17:52:24 +0000 UTC]

The pony itself is, but not the base. Β The main base is wood with a sheet of clay over it

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

allocen In reply to sapphire44456 [2013-08-28 11:04:29 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I referred to the pony (body only), I have a doubt, can you answer me? Is that, I wonder, the rest of which has not been roasted goes along with the piece already baked? and if it is, there is no danger of the piece already baked crunch due to excess heat already be baked? Grateful

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

sapphire44456 In reply to allocen [2013-08-28 12:04:01 +0000 UTC]

Yes it does! You can re-bake this clay many times, but just don't burn or overcook it. Β If it's burnt, ventilate! Β The fumes are toxic and need to be rid of. Β Just leave it in the oven with the door open till it cools down.e fine if you follow package directions though.

allocen In reply to sapphire44456 [2013-08-28 12:50:00 +0000 UTC]

Thank you for taking my questions! I'm using polymer clay for the first time and have not finished the piece, so I was anxious about the issue through baking time, temperature and the like. Thanks for the tips!
