Description Lately I've been writing with my friend between our two characters. The Banette is a henchman character of mine named Thane who started out strictly as a "tough killing machine" for a major villain character of mine. And then my friend decided that she wanted to create a naive Shuppet that had a love for magic name Magi, and we got the idea of forcing our two characters to interact... and then... unexpected character development happened. xD

Apparently I am just physically incapable of writing and creating one-dimensional characters no matter how hard I try, and Thane rapidly started changing due to being around the little Shuppet. I honestly have no clue how it happened, maybe adding a friend that was naive to the idea of killing and "ripping out the souls of an enemy" somehow affected Thane's whole personality. He quickly took a life of his own and grew very protective of the kid, admitting that she was one of the few things that he actually cared about, and acted as a sort of fatherly figure/guardian angel of sorts. He ends up actively hiding his profession from her in fear that she would despise him and that her heart would be broken if one of her only friends was really a cold blooded killer, though he admits to himself that he isn't worthy of having a friend like her and that she'd probably be better off in the long run without him.

And of course he goes through all kinds of denial and such, wondering why a ghost that has never shown compassion can suddenly feel joy being around a friendly child and such.

But anyways, in a current story that's still in the works, Magi eventually has to learn the truth about what Thane has done and continues to do for his evil boss. So I would imagine that either Magi refuses to disown Thane despite these acts and simply asks him to stop what he does or Thane decides to have one last happy moment with her before leaving and never returning for her own good... I dunno, either one is possible I suppose. xD

So yeah, ignore the crappy fireworks effects, they were the best I could do since I was just inspired by the desire to draw this cute moment despite my knowledge of drawing these things.
