This is my contest entry forThe theme is "Fan and Blossom". The dragon stands for the blossom in spring and he brings the first flowers after a cold winter. His scales and tailtip were inspired by the fan. I wanted to include the icons colours, but I donΒ΄t like the outcome. The dragon is too colourful in my opinion, but well, watercolours are always a challenge.
This is also the first time, that I drew the outlines before I coloured it and I guess that was the only reason why I finished this painting.

I like the colours of the dragon, especially because they are brighter in the foreground and less saturated in the back. It was actually the colour scheme that makes me like this painting so much!
