Yes, we will draw ALL the sausages! And the hands, we'll draw some hands too, but mostly the ones that look like sausages

Wonderful Tutorial! I especially liked the section on dividing fingers into "action groups" to help make the pose more readable... never thought of it that wayΒ Β

A lot, i'm working on a comic now and the plot need no much close-up on the hands of the characters!

YAY!! Thanks SO much for breaking (?) these hands down for us! You are right....they can be so hard to draw (and of course, since most of us THINK like that right off the bat, we define our outcomes before pencil hits paper)! We can all see how much time this tutorial took you to illustrate and design. Since most artists tend to be visual learners, this is a major help, much appreciated.

It would be helpful to also specify what effects different finger pairings have on the pose.
The middle/ring pair makes the hand look elegant, while pairing the index and middle fingers in a relaxed pose make it look much more lifelike, and the ring/pinky pair is more useful when the middle and index are doing different precise actions and the last two are somewhat left behind to do nothing, in which case they often rest against each other and acquire the same pose.

Aside from the small lack of additional information on finger pairs, this is very useful and made me understand quite a bit more on the hand. Thank you.

Omg this was extremely helpful. Whenever I draw people their arms are always behind their backs because of my hand struggle. Now I can try to work on this and actually draw full people! Thank you for making this.
