So I altered the background, darkened it a little, which was pretty hard to do as it wasnt a toothy paper. I hope it's better than what it was originally. Oh well. I think I'm done with this piece as it's tiny and not worth me wasting more hours on. For a first go with pastels it wasn't bad I guess. One thing I have learned with colour is that the colours can alter HUGELY from the original once on screen. Bah! Ok going back to my comfort zone of black and white for the moment......

My comment: I just wanted to say how beautifully I think this is. It is definitely one of my very favorites. The realism and majestic stance of the horse is wonderful. Detail and textures are just astounding.

Your so very welcome Sarah. Arabian 2 is also still in the submission gallery and eligible to compete again for our end of the month competition.
Also I wanted to let you know that I have added a new folder to the group's gallery titled "Entries for the next competition".
This is for new members that have just joined and our older members that only submitted one deviation during the first of the month.
You have only one deviation in the submission gallery right now. You may submit one deviation into the new folder if there is another artwork you would like to enter in the end of the month competition.
I hope I explained this right. lol. I keep finding little problems I didn't expect. DA is not really set up for doing this type of group and I keep having to work around DA's limited layouts and controls.

Hopefully these changes will clarify our submission system and include any new members that have just joined and allow them to compete sooner also.
Each time I think I've figured out a system to do submissions, I then find something about it that doesn't seem to quite work right. lol.

This is lovely and you really caught his expression. Did I comment on the previous version? I seem to remember I may have done but not 100percent sure!! Such fuzzy memory LOL Anyway, for only 5x5" it is fantastic... loving the blue BG too!

Thank you Librie! I hope so! I may go back to it at a later date and see how my eyes 're-see' it! Or I may give it to someone as a present. Im not sure right now but I'm glad I finally had a bash at pastels anyway!
