From back in August 2018 - Marc Huizinga has such a beautiful collection of character portraits in his DeviantArt gallery. I was immediately drawn to his lovely Squirrel Girl image. The simplicity of the image brought out her beautiful feature. It was the perfect image to try out a new software combination.

I started this in Photoshop CS3 but I was struggling to get her coat the way I wanted it. At the same time I was busily dusting off my copy of PaintStorm. I loaded the lines in that program just for the fun of it and discovered a really nice combination. I kept the skin I painted in Photoshop but merged it with the clothing and background I painted in PaintStorm. Some adjustments back in Photoshop give us this!

Squirrel Girl is published by Marvel. She can communicate with squirrels which allows her to stand her ground against the bad guys. In New York she worked as a nanny to Luke Cage and Jessica Jones.
