YES! IT'S FINALLY DONE!!!!!

This is a picture of Eris, the Goddess of Chaos, as depicted in the Dreamworks movie "Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas" - which happens to be one of my favorite movies of all time, despite the fact that it is a children's movie and I am sixteen years old.

Eris is my favorite character, for obvious reasons (Chaos, Glorious Chaos!) Every time I watch the movie it makes me really want to draw her because she's just so flowey and fun. So one day I did. And here is the result!

I started this picture about nine months ago and I just finally finished it and I am so pumped!

I LOVE the way it came out. As with all of my pictures, it is much better on the actual piece of paper than on the image I uploaded because of my tragic lack of a scanner. But I still love it to death anyways!

One thing that lost some of its awesomeness in the transfer from paper to picture to computer to internet is the dark lines. You can't see one or two of the lines in her hair and several of the dark lines refelcted the light from the flash and the cealing lamp because it was drawin in pencil. That really bothers me, but I'll do my best to get over it.

The hardest part was her mouth. The experience of trying to draw Eris has shown me that angles are much easier (at least for me) to replicate than vague rounded lines with subtle curves. Her mouth does not have any angles at all in the shot I was using for reference and the expression of her mouth is made up of very subtle changes in the lines which are nearly impossible to recreate. It took me about thirty minutes to get the mouth right, and then I almost ruined it when I was shading the lips in.

But I love how it came out so much, so it's totally worth it.

I'm not even complaining so you can feel my pain, I'm just saying so you can appreciate how much I love the way it came out because I thought it was going to come out terrible because I was having such a hard time with the mouth, which is a key part of her expression.

So, anyways... I love it to death and I hope you do too.
