Description So I'm trying to learn how to draw people (animated people, at least...). And watching Avatar: The Last Airbender over and over always makes me want to draw characters flying around bending elements and other cool shiz!

And figured while I'm drawing semi-anime people, I shall draw some semi-anime Pokemon with them! Because heck, I'd like to live in both universes, and you know you would, too.

Started with Ty Lee, so no elements involved (going to keep it simple while I'm still getting the hang of it). And she gets an Espeon! (Chi-blocking is kind of like psychic-type, so I'm going with that.)

Oh, and ignore the lazy (REALLY lazy... I realize it's the kind of background that most 5 year-olds come up with...) background. I used one of the pre-set photoshop brushes for the grass, feel like it was kind of cheating, but it saved a ton of time, and I don't know how to create my own brushes.

So there you have it! Going to try Azula, Iroh, and Katara next.

AWWWW YEAHHH. I only just recently was able to watch the Korra series, finally (which I loved! So happy it came out so well!), so I've had Avatar on the mind, and I did a little happy dance when I saw the thumbnail for this.

Anyway, you did such a great job! Her proportions are great, the pose is fun, and she was instantly recognizable as Ty Lee. ^_^ And of course, Espeon's always adorable. I'm excited to see more!

Thanks!  And yeah, I just watched the Korra series recently as well, though to me it's not quite as good as the first one (still better than most of the crap on Nickelodeon the past decade, though).  I didn't find the characters as interesting as in the first series, but it was super fun to watch nonetheless!

I'm excited to make more of these as well!  Gotta work on my fire/water/rock drawing ability, though

No pun intended with that rock comment. Good lord, why did I say that.

Yeah, they did do a good job with the sequel in keeping things interesting .  I can't wait until the second book comes out on DVD!

Ha, I fully enjoyed the pun, no worries there!

Oddly, I find rocks to be the hardest of those elements. >.> I think I just have no patience for all the scraggly details.

And I will always like the first Avatar series more, but I was kind of worried about the sequel being dumb, so I was SUPER excited that it wasn't. Also, I LOVED the way the moved the time period/technology level up instead of just keeping the world stagnant. Not only was it cool (IMO), it made sense the way things turned out, I think.
