Description
Something i've been working on for a while:The two people and the bullet are vectors that i did.
One of whom is my good buddy
The other is based on 47 from the game "Hitman".
The background is a stock photo of san francisco by
I used some awesome brushes by
And finally, the title is from a great track by Alexisonfire.

Sweet Jesus! This is absolutely wonderful! The strong colors, the perfect shading. Kudos to you on such a wonderful piece. The only thing I find strange is that the vectoring of the girl is much more shaded and advancded then the one on the guy. I do understand why, but it does look a wee bit odd. Fabulous piece and +fav none the less!

wow thanks a lot. i dont know if i'd called my shading perfect by any means, but ill take it. I spent a long time on the girl, so by the time i got around to doing the other parts i was almost ready to move on so i kinda rushed it...

Speaking as someone who does vectors (while they are rare and horrible) I know thats getting results such as yours takes both skill and patience. I do this you made a wonderful piece of art and the Alexisonfire bit does help .

This makes me think of the whole Bud Dwyer thing, the guy who shot himself in the face on live TV during a press conference. I think that you should keep the REC text, but maybe work it a little more to look like an actual camera display. I don't think that you need to change the position of the man, combined with the background, it makes me think of a news anchorman broadcasting from location. I think the basis of this piece is really solid, it can work on a lot of conceptual levels. Technically, I would re-work the man's head, specifically the entrance wound of the bullet. I hate to get graphic here, but there is a lot less mushrooming when someone is shot in the side of the head. Emphasizing the exit wound will also strengthen the sense of motion and direction in this piece. This is a really good one, and I think with a bit of refinement it could be really awesome. Kepp going on it, I want to see what happens.

hmm, i think i remember that guy... i hadnt really thought of him like a news guy, but the suit and everything does fit into that sort of a situation. I used one of those photos of a bullet going through an apple as a reference, so im sure its a little bit different to a human head, i didnt really know how it'd look though. I think i'd have to agree with your suggestions, but im not really big on going back and redoing stuff. I think i spent so long on this already that i could barely stand the sight of it in illustrator again lol. maybe some day though. Id prefer to move on and take what i learn from this and apply it to something new and fresh though. Thanks a lot for the indepth comment.

i think the curves on the bottom left and top right parts don't fit in too nice
great mix of styles.. like ekud said.. mixed media madness
i'm liking it.. cool vectors and a nice bg to match...
perhaps the "rec" text can be left out too.. and if u can change the hitman's pose to something a little more attractive and more fitting with the girl next to him, it'll flow a bit better
